Conclusion: I bought one about one month ago, it just works fine with my old TV. It received all the channels as of from the analoge signal which were not too bad at all in my city location. The Cobe converts the digital signal to my analoge TV with beautiful crisp color. Last week I ordered another two Coby's which were on sale at half price again for my another two old TVs. They sent to me within a week and they both worked fine. Thank you for the prompt service.
Summary: For the price, you can't beat this converter box. I purchased the RCA ANT1450B indoor antenna and they work great together - execeeded my expectations. I purchased two of each; one for the front of the house and one for the back - no problems at all! I'm glad I took a chance with this. I'm very satisfied.
Pros: Buy It, Easy To Setup, Fast Setup, Good Audio, Improved Reception, Simple Controls
Summary: I am comparing this to my dead Digital Stream converter. It was bad enough, but Coby couldn't pick up half of the channels I was watching with Digital Stream. The remote is absolutely terrible: it requires a very precise aiming and a lot of power to press the buttons. The picture was visibly inferior to my old converter. Verdict: it is a terrible piece of junk and waste of money.
Summary: Digital TV led me to leave cable tv and all those monthly fees behind. I get about 40 channels, with an amazing sharp picture and I'm just using rabbit ears. It comes with a remote which has its own channel guide, a signal strength feature which lets you see how to set your antenna for the best reception. The only drawback was the remote needs to be pointed right at the box or it doesn't get the signal.
