Excerpt: I owned and used Technics turntables for about 5 years before selling them and getting out of DJing due to a number of professional and personal reasons. Unbeknownst to me at the time that I sold my 1200s, Panasonic was several months away from ceasing production. Fast forward a couple of years... I'm in my apartment playing on a couple of CDJ-900s, and thinking about how much fun it would be to play on turntables again.
Excerpt: I bought this deck as a step up from a mid-range Audio Technica deck with an S-shaped arm and elliptical playhead. I don't scratch, but exclusively spin vintage Jamaican vinyl, which is often rife with the type of faults an anomalies that gave my previous deck problems. I needed something much more fault tolerant and skip-resistant, that still used an analog preamp, and decided this deck (with a straight tone arm and spherical playhead) was worth a go.
Summary: This is simply the best turntable on the market. It's got the quickest start and stop times, reverse button, key correction. I fill let down whenever I have to spin on Technic 1200's when I'm out. You will not find a better machine anywhere. I love it!
