Summary: I use this turntable to transfer my old Lp's to my computer file and then download to my I pod. There are two cables attached to this unit. The one is used as a monitor when connected to you stereo system. The other attaches to your computer system. The recording software which comes with this unit is not supported by my windows 7 operating system. I ordered a separate program which was more compatible and much more simple to understand.
Pros: Consistent, Easy To Use, Excellent Sound, Good Product Easy To Use
Pros: The turntable works well with my Bose stereo system and my Mac computer. I downloaded VinylStudio from the net which is rated highly. I tired the first 5 albums and then bought the software as it was relatively easy to use.
Cons: The Sony turntable played well with the Mac but why would anyone bundle Windows only software in this day and age. Shame on you Sony, you are such a good company and should be above that!
Pros: Simple controls, works fine with stereo system and comuter. Fully compatible with Vista. Every Baby Boomer on planet Earth needs to get one.
Cons: Software (Audio Studio LE) is a demo version and, naturally, they will sell you the full up version for a "reasonable price." What you get will allow you to record tracks of an LP but not long comedy albums with no track breaks.
Summary: I am a novice in electronics and have a ton of old vinyl records I wanted to be able to listen to. This product fits all my needs. It is lightweight yet durable and hooks easily into my stereo. I think I had to buy a longer cable though. The sound is richer than I expected and in my opinion is as good as mp3 or CDs. What is really great is I can hook it into my computer with the USB port and record my albums to mp3 format to listen to on my computer!
Summary: I am happy with the turntable. I know that for the price I paid I wouldn't get super quality but it is pretty good and it does what I want it to do. I didn't know that when playing my records the sound would only come through one speaker and a heads up about that would have been nice. Playing back the recording is in stereo. Also, it would be nice if the recording software that comes with it was cross-platform. [...
