Excerpt: Cartridge arrived as it should have, yuck, safe, and secure. Once installed and played for a few hours, it settled in nicely and sounds fantastic. The highs are crisp, the bass is deep, musical, and articulate, and oh, the midrange! Can't go wrong for the money.
Excerpt: This cartridge is very nice and stable with a good clean sound that is also warm and pleasing to the ears. Excellent for 70's rock but also does well with classical, jazz, and probably just about anything else you can throw at it.
Pros: Consistent, Easy To Use, Excellent Sound, Versatile
Excerpt: I'm not an elitist high priced audiophile kind of guy but I've been listening to rock and roll on decent to good systems for 40 years. This is the best cart I've ever had, perhaps the best part of my system now. For $ an excellent bang for the buck upgrade.
Excerpt: Love this cartridge and stylus, together they bring my old albums warmly back to life. I had a local expert professionally set this up for my after I picked up a vintage turntable on eBay. If you have a love for lps, do yourself a favor and pick up this cartridge and bring the good times back to life too!
Pros: Excellent Sound, Great price, Quality Product
Excerpt: I just installed this with a jico sas stylus on a thorens td150mk2. It hasn't had any real break in time but so far after several lps from rock to folk to jazz it seem very neutral and clean sounding. I only expect it to get better. I picked this as I have a lot of vintage vinyl and wanted something more forgiving than my other carts.
Excerpt: Used the M97XE to replace the original cartridge on my 1970's era Technics SL-D2. Fit perfectly AND...reduces static tremendously because it has small grounding whiskers that are in contact with record when playing.
Excerpt: I have a lot of old LPs from the 50's and 60's, and some of the high-powered demo LPs (Battle Stereo comes to mind) as well as many of the well-engineered classical albums (1812 overture, anyone?) had the potential to kick a stylus right out of the groove or produce distorted sound if a compliant enough cart wasn't being used. I tried to torture this cart, but it took whatever I put on and tracked cleanly and distortion-free. Shure lives up to its reputation!
