Still decent if your on a tight budget but there are limitations

  • Excerpt: I used to use these cdjs on a regular basis and at the time I thought they were brilliant and had everything you could want for an aspiring DJ. It does have some handy features, such as the looping station (which you do not get on the 1000s). However it was after using 1000s that I noticed the huge jump in improvements from the 800s and some of the drawbacks it has.
  • Pros: cheap initially, performs well at first
  • Cons: common faults, not as durable as 1000s

  • Excerpt: I used the CDJ800 for six months. It's an excellent deck!! I like the auto-loop function. The +10/+100 pitch setting allows you to create amazing mixes and is very reliable. Very convenient to make long mixes.

  • Excerpt: It's been two and a half years that I use a pair of these two marvels beyond a shadow of a problem. I find them excellent for use as I do (ie evening between friends and personal pleasure).

These bad boys rock!

22 February 2006
  • Excerpt: I learned how to dj on vinyl but most of my collection was on cd, so had to think long and hard about what i was to purchase before i did. I'm glad i did as almost three years i haven't had to replace or upgrade these decks, and they are as brilliant as they were when they were just a day old. Moving up to the 1000's can be costly, however the 800's do almost as much and prioneer haven't skimped on packing functionality into them.
  • Pros: More affordable than the 1000's with almost as much functionality
  • Cons: doesn't have a moving platter  -  but i don't think you really need that !
