The CDJ-800 has a 7-inch jog wheel with a non-slip finish that allows users to improve their scratch performance. It can also be used in two different modes including the Vinyl mode and the CDJ mode. Depending on the mode used, the jog wheel performs different functions. When in Vinyl mode, it is used to stop or cue up tracks as well as bend or scratch sounds. On the other hand, the jog wheel is used to speed up or slow down music when used in CDJ mode.
Apart from tracking audio playing times, the main display of the Pioneer CDJ-800 displays CD-Text as well as ID3 data. The player also has a bright jog display that features 45-degree markers that provide visual references that assist users with cueing.
The CDJ-800 also features Pioneer’s “Expanded Internal MemoryMore” which allows users to record memory points to the player’s internal memory. The player also allows users to set a cue point and easily return to it just by a press on the jog wheel.
Furthermore, the Pioneer CDJ-800 features 4 timing buttons allowing its users to easily create 1, 2, 4, or 8 beat loops. Once loops have been manually created, the player allows for instant beat cuts from 1/1 to 1/8. Further use of the Loop-In buttons allow for cutting beat loops down to 1/32.
Through the Pioneer CDJ-800, users can create a wide range of different sound effects using the player’s +/- 100% pitch control range. This pitch control range also allows users to BPM match entirely different tracks.
