The Pioneer CDJ-1000 MK3 is a digital audio system that plays CD audio and MP3 data in CD, CD-R and CD-RW formats. The player measures approximately 12.63 x 4.13 x 14.56 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 9.5 pounds.

The CDJ-1000 MK3 features aluminum buttons and comes equipped with a 7-inch non-slip jog dial, anti-vibration construction, and shock proof memory. Wave Data, Cue points, and Loop points can be stored using either the player’s internal memory or removable memory cards (MMC or SD).

The Pioneer CDJ-1000 MK3 has an LCD dot matrix screen for Wave Display, CD-Text, and ID3 data. It also has a cue marker display located at the jog dial’s center. This cue marker display shows how far the current play position is from the cue point. This center display also has 45-degree markers for extra cueing assistance.

Further cueing assistance is provided by through special functions such as the Auto Cue and the Real Time Cue. Using the Auto Cue function, users can easily cue up to the beginning of a track while cue points can easily be set and stored using the Real Time Cue function.

The Pioneer CDJ-1000 MK3 can be used in two modes: Vinyl and CDJ. When used in Vinyl mode, the jog dial’s surface can be used as a vinyl turntable for stopping, scratching, or cueing tracks. When used in CDJ mode, the jog wheel is used to speed up or slow down music.

Additionally, the CDJ-1000 MK3 comes with extensive features for tempo control. It comes with a 100mm linear high precision slider allowing its users to easily make tempo adjustments in ranges of +/- 6%, +/-10%, +/-16% and +/-100% (+70%/-100% for MP3), depending on the assignments set by the user. It is also equipped with Pioneer’s Master Tempo which locks the pitch of the track even when the tempo is changed.

The system is also equipped with Pioneer’s Legato Link Conversion that gives it the capability to reproduce sound frequencies over 20kHz which allows for better sound reproduction.
