Excerpt: I bought this product to convert old LP records and make some Compact Discs. I couldn't get the software that came on the included disc to work on my older computer, but downloaded the most recent version of EZ Vinyl Tape Converter and it worked great. You do have to know how to change the audio settings in the program you are using, but that wasn't really a hassle, either. The sound quality is great, the quality of the unit is better than I expected.
Excerpt: We use it daily. i added a better cartridge to it, sound amazing hooked up to our bose system. only thing i would complain about is the arm doesn't retract at the end of a side, but that's not a deal breaker.
Excerpt: I made this purchase to obviously try to save some old vinyl records into a digital file. It feels very light but it works fine and does what it says. It may seem time consuming to record but that's the point in wanting to do it. The instructions were easy to follow and to record was simple enough. I am not the most tech savy person and with the software included it was very simple to understand.
Excerpt: I bought this product to replace my old Audio Techinca Turntable that was having some issues. I chose this for two reasons: 1.) It had USB capabilities to put the vinyl on my computer, and 2.) the price was very reasonable. I like the turntable because it is light, and I can move it between my 2 stereos in my house. The turntable works very well for casual listening. I wouldn't recommend for an actual DJ though.
Pros: Consistent, Easy To Use, Excellent Sound, Inexpensive, Versatile
Excerpt: Not as well built as I thought. The casing is plastic and not metal like I thought. I haven't tried the USB thing yet. I'm getting a little feedback when I turn it up loud and can't figure out how to fix it. Overall nice turntable.
Excerpt: Bought this to turn my Dad's old LPs into MP3s. Way better than any 3-in-1 (tape, Cd, Record) converter models. The software is a bit tricky, we had to look up other reviews online to figure out how exactly to get it to work. Once we figured out how to use audacity, it made the editing process easier to cut lag time before or after each song. Mp3s come out great but it's still record quality! If you want pristine CD quality, buy the CD!
Pros: Consistent, Excellent Sound, Professional Features
Summary: I wanted a direct drive turntable, and that's how JR has this one categorized. It is belt driven! But I've been using it and it works well.It uses Audacity software,[@] instead of the one on the CD-ROM.Shortcomings: No automation, you have to move the tonearm yourself. There isn't even a cue lever. Also, there is no dust cover to protect the platter or any record that may be in place. The manual recommends 3-5 grams of pressure for playback, which is rather high.
