Summary: The product works fine from a basic standpoint if you're a novice computer user.In spite of the good quality recordings you make and ease of use,it has some major drawbacks.First,it doesn't allow you to store your files where you choose.By default,it stores them in a seperate library folder of it's choosing and you need to download a program for that. You should be free to select your own folders for those purposes.
Summary: I wanted a direct drive turntable, and that's how JR has this one categorized. It is belt driven! But I've been using it and it works well.It uses Audacity software,[@] instead of the one on the CD-ROM.Shortcomings: No automation, you have to move the tonearm yourself. There isn't even a cue lever. Also, there is no dust cover to protect the platter or any record that may be in place. The manual recommends 3-5 grams of pressure for playback, which is rather high.
Summary: After my old turntable broke, I could not decide whether to buy an antique or something more 21st century. I opted for the new technology, and was pleasantly surprised. When I hooked the turntable up to my speaker system the sound was clear, and even the sound when playing through my computer is good. The software seems fairly easy to use. Very happy so far!
Summary: This turntable works pretty well, I have a Mac so it was basically plug and play. I used to have to hook up a mixer and another turntable to get my vinyl xfered. The sound quality is great, nice and loud and clear. I didn't have any hum as some of the reviewers said. Every once and awhile i get a feedback type sound but unplugging it and re-plugging it fixes that. The only complaint is that it doesn't come with a cover.
Summary: Super easy set up. Interesting Audacity software which comes with it. I love the line out/phono out option. I can just plug it in & enjoy my LP's without having to do any recording or anything.
Having the 'gain' on the turntable is great - higher for just listening & lower for recording. Lots of control to get the best sound wherever.
I'm quite happy with it & I'm sure it will be even better as I learn all the options with the software.
Summary: Makes it easy as pie to transfer vinyl to digital format. Software is easy to use. No matter what transfer mechanism one uses, dividing and naming track is the time consuming factor. I like this product.
Summary: This product works very well. The only issue I have is that you have to remember to lift the arm when the record is over. It does not have an auto lift, so you can't walk away from it for very long without risking needle damage. Also, the signal is very low and a preamp is needed. If you don't already have one, don't buy this product without buying something to power the signal. Otherwise, I am very happy with this investment.
