Nad C555i Turntable

The Nad C555i Turntable is a Nad’s Technology designed Turntable that comes with 2-speed Belt-Drive System (33.3 RPM and 45.1 RPM) for playing vinyl records combined with a motor that provides High Torque synchronous and extra low vibration. The C555i Turntable also includes a perfectly matched Tonearm/Cartridge to yield high performance reproduction and comes complete with a highly reviewed moving magnet cartridge pre-mounted and ready to play. It comes with an angled MDF design platter with Single piece pressure diecast Aluminium arm tube and it comes in Black colour finish plus inclusive of a non-resonant Polystyrene dust cover.

Features

The Nad C555i Turntable features a 2-speed Belt-Drive System (33.3 RPM and 45.1 RPM) which is compatible to all existing records and enables user to listen to favourites from 33 RPM and 45 RPM vinyl record collections. The precision High Torque synchronous motor drives its platter via a synthetic rubber belt to isolate the record surface from even the smallest vestige of motor vibration. This proven design has the dual advantage of low background noise and long term reliability. The 22mm angled platter is made of a special non resonant MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard) material and is located on a precision machined bearing utilizing a steel shaft that sits upon a hardened steel ball at the bottom of a brass sleeve. The main bearing is designed with 18mm diameter (very high tolerance on bore diameter). The Tonearm offers perfect geometry and excellent control of spurious resonance, and is an ideal match for the supplied cartridge. The Tonearm is operated manually with its length measures at 244mm, effective mass of 9g, with 19.1mm Overhang and has Vertical tracking force of 1.75g. The device uses the Goldring Electra type cartridge (with Electrical Characteristics specification) weighing at approximately 4.2g. The statically balanced design also incorporates a linear magnetic anti-skate compensator for ideal tracking characteristics across the entire playing surface of the record. A “rigid plinth” design concept (with Rounded edge plinth) that keeps all elements of the turntable in perfect alignment, providing the solid foundation required to reproduce even the most subtle of musical nuance. This design releases the maximum amount of energy from the record itself, leading to a dynamic and highly detailed sound. Specially designed isolation feet filter out parasitic vibrations in the musical frequency range. The Nad C555i Turntable has a frequency response of more or less 3 dB, from 20 Hz-20,000 Hz while the Channel balance for the device is 2 dB at 1,000 Hz and Channel separation is 20 dB at 1,000 Hz. It has an output level 5 mV more or less 2 dB at 1,000 Hz at 5 cm/s. The C555i also has Static compliance of 16 mm/N, Equivalent tip mass of 0.7mg and Vertical tracking angle of 26 degree. It comes with a D152E type Stylus with a radius of r/R 7/18μm. Other features include a Load resistance of 47,000 ohms, a Load capacitance of 150-400pF, an internal inductance of 560mH plus an internal resistance of 700 ohms. The Nad C555i Turntable measures at 17.59-inch (44.7cm or 447mm) in width, 4.53-inch (11.5cm or 115mm) in height and 14-inch (35.6cm or 356mm) in depth. It has a Net weight of 11.57 pounds (5.25kg) while the shipping weight is 15.21 pounds (6.9kg).
