Summary: Opening the box reveals parts and pieces I've never seen before. This unit is far above the sophistication of the last "record player" I used, and still have, with a picture of "Fonzi" on the front. The directions are pretty straight forward, with the exception of tuning the needle.
Summary: Well-packaged; easy to set-up; looks nice; runs well. Operation of the push-buttons is somewhat "clunky," but the automatic mechanism is smooth enough. The original cartridge was fine, but immediately chose to upgrade.
Summary: Excellent turntable for the price! The cartridge is less than spectacular but at this price who am to quibble. I have already purchased a better cartridge and installed it and the sound quality is much improved. I really like the full-auto function. My other turntable has an $800 cartridge.
Summary: Great buy overall. My only suggestion would be that they recommend bundling this with an anti static gun (or other solution). I was a newbie to vinyl players and wasn't aware that the pops and clicks could be somewhat taken away with some anti-static solution.
Summary: I'm good with this turntable. The sound quality out of the box is good, stereo separation fine, the automatic system works well, it looks good, operates effectively at a working mans price. My issue came during setup. I tried to follow the tone arm balancing procedure. I must not get it.
Pros: Seems like a good unit at an affordable price. Good sound quality out of the box. Good delivery and service from Crutchfield. It's automatic.
Cons: I just don't get the tone arm balancing instructions. They did not work for me. I had to add considerably more downward pressure than was recommended but having done so, it works like a farmer in the spring and fall.
Summary: Put simply, I was looking for an entry-level turntable that is fully automatic and won't damage my records. The Denon DP-300F has exceeded all of my expectations. The build quality is great and it was a snap to setup.
Summary: Fine turntable, good sound and matches well with my current system. It's only weakness lies with the cartridge that comes with the package and the fact that the cables are hard wired and I can't use cables of my own choice.
Excerpt: I'm not a techie, but love my old albums and just wanted to be able to hear them again. This turntable was very easy to set up, no problems. Sound quality is very good. Lots of people got new stylus's for it but I can hear every scratch and squeak on my old albums that I played for thousands of...
Summary: Good looking piece of equipment. Easy set-up. That being said, a stylus force gauge is a must. The buttons and cue arm have a smooth feel and work well. I replaced the stock cartridge with an Oyster Black Pearl and got the warmer sound I was after.
Pros: Easy set-up. Good looking. Easy to operate. Works great.
Cons: I'm not sure if this a "con", but the stock cartridge is a bit focused toward the high end for me. Depends on what works for you.
