My vinyls are back ....

drPSR, Crutchfield
1 March 2014
  • Summary: When the CDs and DVDs have won the market and piracy is on top, Denon's DP-29F has taken me 20 years back when I used to play my vinyls on my Phillips turntable. When purchasing, I had a lot of doubt regarding its quality. I put my first LP on it with hesitation, but to my utter astonishment, I listened a true rich and nice sound which at once made me nostalgic! THANKS DENON FOR YOUR PRODUCTION..
  • Pros: Cheap,Easy to use, good looking, good reproduction.
  • Cons: I'm not a fault finder!

Listening to Records Again

L. P, Crutchfield
22 May 2013
  • Summary: The Denon DP-29F is exactly what I was looking for to listen to a stack of records I saved from the 60's and 70's. It is very easy to set up and operate. Although it is very light weight, it works very well. I purchased it after my 32 year old turn table died. May not meet the needs of someone looking for studio quality.
  • Pros: Easily set up and very simple to operate.
  • Cons: Light weight.

Get the DP-300F...AVOID this toy...

  • Summary: This item may be alright for kids from 8-12. After that, they deserve better. I paid for a used DP-29. First, my experience in Hi-Fi: I began putting my first decent system together in 1977. I bought a BIC 940, then a Kenwood amp and AR-18 speakers, later a cassette deck. I began to collect, sell and thoroughly enjoy speakers from the AR's to Bolivar's, Technics, Micro-Acoustics, KLH's, Pioneers and as many amps and tape machines, tuners , CD, SACD, DVD-Audio and on to...
  • Pros: Cheap, easy to set-up, easy to chose cartridge.
  • Cons: You can only choose cartridge that is affixed to arm. No counterweight. Bad drive system, noisy. Cartridge cheap.... YUCK!

Denon DP29F

Jennifer, Crutchfield
26 October 2012
  • Summary: The set up is easy. Unfortunately I didnt open the box or set it up for nearly a year after buying it. It was a Christmas gift and we just didn't get around to bringing the boxes of LP's out of storage, or creating a good set up area soon enough. I know Crutchfield would have taken it back, it isn't their fault. My advice is set it up and use it right away to hear how your music sounds.
  • Pros: Crutchfield is very helpful. I recommend them.
  • Cons: Consider buying a turntable with platter speed adjustment, and a mechanized tonearm lift so you can and cue the needle safely to different tracks easier.

Did not work

Ron V, Crutchfield
2 October 2012
  • Summary: I was recommended this product to give to my son for his 20th birthday at college. The first unit did not work and as the stylus arm and motor would not activate. A second unit was shipped and this unit had a humming noise when playing records. It was hooked up to two different amps with the same result. He is on his third try to get a unit to work for him and we have our fingers crossed that this one does the job.

Denon-29F Belt-drive turntable

Mike G, Crutchfield
7 September 2012
  • Summary: Although I just recently purchased this item, I am confident that it will be just what I needed. It runs very smoothly and plays both LP and 45rpm records without any problems. The average customer reviews give it an academic grade of "B," which implies that very few complaints have been registered against the turntable. Doubtless, I would need to spend a lot more money for one the received an "A." rating. As the leading comsumer magazine would say it's a "Best Buy.
