  1. Denon DP-200USB Turntable Review

    17 August 2009

Your Vinyl Answer USB turntables are nothing new, but have previously required a computer to do their analog-to-digital thing. Converting vinyl into MP3s is a wonderfully liberating feat. But who keeps a computer next to his stereo stack or has the room for a turntable (and accompanying record collection) in the office? Read more

This is the USB turntable for someone like me, who isn't interested in researching and sorting sound cards, software and cabling, and who loves music but isn't a compulsive audiophile. Here's how it works: unpack and set up the turntable, connect it to a sound system, stick a flash drive in the port, put on a record (LP or 45), push a couple of buttons, and you're in business. Records in real time, files are stored at a rate of 192kbps. The software for splitting files... Read more or see product

Very easy to use and sound quality was excellent. Transferred file to my iTunes with no problem. I haven't loaded the software and tried splitting the songs yet, but I imagine that will simply be tedious rather than difficult. Read more

I did quite a bit searching and waiting to find a decent turntable that I could both connect to my stereo system for LP playing, as well connect to my computer for digitizing of those same LP's. Having owned and used a traditional Denon turntable for 20yrs, I thought I'd stick with a brand that I knew and could trust. My first impressions of this turnable have been mostly favorable....it works with well/sounds good playing LP's and the digitizing is quite easy using a... Read more or see product

For the last few months, I've been growing increasing frustrated at not being able to play my old vinyl. I'd be walking through the park, and suddenly the strains of Zounds' Cant Cheat Karma (a non-hit from around 1980) would run through my head. Later, ... Read more
