Summary: This has happened three times: the toaster will not complete its cycle and continue to operate until canceled, i.e., your toast will burn and possibly ignite. The first time this happened I was out of the kitchen and did not stop the toast from burning until after the fire department was called (we have a centrally-wired smoke detector). I could not cancel the alarm in time. I don't know if I was more embarrassed or angry.
Summary: I read the reviews both for an against this toaster, but it was on half price sale so I took a chance. I've only had it a week or so, but after cremating the first few slices I quickly discovered how it was set, and where to use it for various items. So far there's really no bad to report - except the aforementioned cremations. On the good side, for a toaster it's very pleasing to the eye, especially like the blue timer that comes on while it's running.
Summary: I really like the design of this toaster and the verstility of settings. Unfortunately, my toaster burns everything. On the third setting the toast began to burn and my smoke alarm went off. The lightest setting gave me toast like the highest setting on other toasters. I wish there was an adjustment to adjust the timer. I could really enjoy this toaster with a few adjustment in the length of toasting time.
Summary: My only complaint about this toaster is that it burns the bread! This of course should be a deal breaker for most people. Even on its lightest setting the toast is burned and on the darkest setting this is a bread burning beast! The sad thing is that all the company has to do is a firmware update to change the length of time the bread is heated. Simple. Toastess Company are you listening?
Surprisingly, the digital countdown comes in handy

Summary: When I first bought this product years ago I thought the countdown timer was a bit pretentious and superfluous. But then I discovered that I actually used it. One example is when I'm preparing spaghetti I opt for toasted wheat bread instead of French for the health factor. Ok, I put a slim sliver of real butter on it with garlic (don't want to be anal about the heath stuff), and as I pass by the toaster I know if I have time to grab the veggies out of the microwave...
Summary: toasts perfectly. love the defrost and reheat settings as they work as advertised. never really had to use any settings higher than 1. the timer is a must have, no more guess work and i know exactly how much time i have until the toast pops up. bought some brownberry multigrain bread which is a bit wider than normal white bread and it fits fine. any wider bread and you'd be pushing it. haven't purchased any bread yet though that hasn't fit.
Summary: Don't even consider this so called toaster. Even on darkest setting, barely toasts bread! Have to go thru at least 2 cycles to get results. Never had a cheap toaster that works (or doesn't work) this bad!! Ready to just throw it away. Wouldn't even put in a yard sale, it's that bad!!
Summary: A Quality Appearance in materials, facia, operating features you'll be pleased by. The toasting settings vary by the slightest differances in breads / size & thickness - but utilizing both the Timer, Countdown Clock & Cancel Button aids in eventual predictability. All in all a very attractive appliance that works reliably at a price which is befitting it's status. We've had much more expensive Toasters which were disfunctional right from the beginning.
Summary: Toastess TT-513 2-Slice Toaster with Digital Countdown Timer This was a must have when I saw it on Amazon. Everything else is so high tech, why not the toaster? I know exactly when the toast will be done, which is great when timing with omelettes. And the defrost feature works great too. The blue LED's on the buttons and the blue backlit LCD is very bright, adds a lot of appeal to the look of the thing.
