Crap for the money

Ed Kinne, Amazon
12 March 2014
  • Summary: Bought a nice toaster to replace the cheap one that had uneven toasting. Got a more expensive toaster that has uneven toasting (Very large Hot Spot in the middle) and a catch on the lever that only catches and hold down to toast 1 out of every 3 tries. Maybe it is my unit, but I would not buy it again.

Ditto to all 1star reviews.

Amazon Lover, Amazon
13 February 2014
  • Summary: Purchased at target on a whim since really wanted longer slots for rye bread but there is no toasting function of this toaster that works correctly. It's really annoying. On amazon now hunting for a new possibility and coming to the sad reality there is no perfect toaster. I don't want it to make me breakfast - just toast evenly.

Malfunctions after 1st year

Amy Pruett, Amazon
19 January 2014
  • Summary: We loved that it matched our kitchen and it has the slots for larger slices of bread. Oddly enough this is very difficult to find. Unfortunately, after a year this toaster suddenly starts burning toast. We thought it was just a malfunction with our first one. Then we foolishly bought a second one and had exactly the same experience. We would only recommend this toaster if you are good with replacing it annually.

OK for the money if you want a stainless steel toaster

kireviewer, Amazon
2 January 2014
  • Summary: WARNING: OUTSIDE GETS REALLY HOT I love the long slotted toasters and I don't know why more aren't made like this. They are great for toasting things like hot dog buns, rolls and oversized bread. This one looks very nice. Much nicer in person than the picture. Here are the problems with it: -the outside gets very hot. After toasting bread, you cannot touch the outside.

worst toaster ever. so bad its funny

CAFH, Amazon
27 December 2013
  • Summary: This toaster is so bad its almost funny. We joke about it all yhe time. I bought it despite yhe bad reviews cause I figured it cannot be THAT bad; after all I've bought ten dollar eastern european brand toasters that got the job done. Its really bad. Burns the toast, esp if you toast only one slice. Consistently produces inconsistent results on same bread slices and toast setting. They should take this off the market. Horrible.

Broke in less than 2 years

Mel12345, Amazon
26 December 2013
  • Summary: Never toasted evenly - had to turn things part way through toasting so one side wouldn't burn. Now it's broken in less than 2 years - only one heating element working, while the other 3 sides not heating at all. Would not purchase again.

Beware of Oster

Randall T. Karle "manic collector", Amazon
12 December 2013
  • Summary: Extremely poor quality. We bought ours about 6 months ago, based on reviews of other Oster toasters. That was a very bad move. This piece of junk worked for about 4 months with little demand on it. We only used it once a week or so until last week, when we decided to have some english muffins. At first, the toaster refused to do anything, then seemed to be working normally, but the next day it refused to pop up.

How to make all the wires light up.....

2007shelleya, Ebay
7 December 2013
  • Summary: This toaster has the same problem as most---all the wires don't heat up!!!! BUT...I learned a trick to fix this, and it works!! With the toaster UNPLUGGED, use a knife to pry each warming wire away from the metal plate they are mounted to. The problem is that instead of the wire heating up, it is misdirected and diluted by the metal plate behind it. By arching it away, every single wire turns red!!!
