Summary: This toaster has the same problem as most---all the wires don't heat up!!!! BUT...I learned a trick to fix this, and it works!! With the toaster UNPLUGGED, use a knife to pry each warming wire away from the metal plate they are mounted to. The problem is that instead of the wire heating up, it is misdirected and diluted by the metal plate behind it. By arching it away, every single wire turns red!!!
Excerpt: I bought the toaster so that I could eat breakfast at the same time as my wife (since it toasts 4 slices at once). The unfortunate part is the internal "coils" are uneven so the browning of the toast is also very uneven from being close to burnt to very light. "Coils" in this toaster are actually filaments attached to a board. They should all be flat on the board for even browning, but they are not.
A great toaster with great performance and extra options.

Summary: This was a great purchase. I am completely satisfied with the performance of this great toaster. And all the extra features are a plus. A defrost and warmer option and it is large enough for 4 slices of thick toast and the thickest bagels and waffles also fit without a problem.
More toaster for the money and protection plans help with misshaps.

Summary: I got it cause I was tired of white small appliances and need a toaster with more capasity and I like stainless stealand it is cool to the touch when moving it after use big plus for me my old toaster would melt the end of the bread bag when it came in contact with the outside surface no problem with this toaster and the crum tray makes for easy cleaning and the safty of the stop button feature helps to stop burning.
Summary: Honestly, I was disappointed with the toaster. I expected more even toasting from a well-known product like Kitchenaid. I like the versatility of the toaster. It has several different settings. Also, it takes up less space on the counter than most 4-slice toasters. It's a very sleek design.
Summary: My previous Oster toaster, bought around '88, was made of plastic & I dropped & cracked it slightly. It still worked just fine...& this was after taking it apart many times for cleaning. So I went looking for the same brand. I liked the wide bagel size slots...& the stainless case seemed like a good idea, even tho it is a bit difficult to keep the fingerprints off.
