Summary: I have read many reviews and bought this for the looks actually. The price that I paid ($150) sounded unreal for the toaster, but since the one that I got for my wedding lasted about 15 years, I thought this one is going to be around a while and I might as well get the best one out there that...
Summary: We received this as a gift and we really appreciate the "bulk" of this toaster. We plugged it in and found that the toaster timer does not work properly. Seems it times out at 30 seconds no matter how high we twist the 1-9 timer.
Summary: I would really like to purchase this toaster for my son's wedding because I purchased one last year and I love it. Why did I pay $48.40 and this exact same one (because I have the paper work from mine) is $149.95? That's totally robbing someone!!!! I would like someone to respond on this, please.
Summary: I found that this toaster got rave reviews by different sources (cooking.com, etc) but I must admit that it is not much better than the $30 toaster that I purchased 15 years ago. On the highest setting, the bread is very lightly toasted.
Summary: Toast was uneven, controls poorly designed, and the unit broke in the first week. KitchenAid returned our money. We bought the Breville toaster. Wonderful product. Second disappointment with a KitchenAid product. Will look for Breville products first from now on.

Summary: I love the rock solid construction and the retro design. The manual lever at first seemed odd to me but then I discovered that not only does it keep the toast warm until I'm ready for it but it also allows me to check doneness on breads that I'm not familiar with. Now the bad news.
Summary: Got tired of burned toast on the low settings with my old toasters so paid a little extra and this one is worth the price. This is my first toaster ever where the medium setting gives medium toasting. I really like that the toast doesn't pop up automatically but when I want.
Summary: I'm not going to burn a whole lot of words writing about a toaster, but I can't imagine a better toaster being available. This machine is rock solid and toasts bread well. What else could you want? The stay-down lever to keep things warm and the "I'm finished" beep are first-class.
