Summary: Not a toaster for everyone but its the Mercedes of toasters. Waited years to get one. Pricey but worth every penny! Quality through & through! Its a no gimmick manual operation whetes theres nothimg to break or go wrong. If it does you can order a part or send it off to Fix. Best features are it doesnt automatically pop up. When the manual timer shuts off it stays down in the toaster till you press the lift knob which avoids burnt finger tips.
Summary: Love the toaster and how it toasts. However, after about a year, the switch doesn't work properly and you have to mess with it to get it to work sometimes. Looked into service and what we found said you had to send it back to England!!!! And you couldn't just buy a new switch and replace it yourself.
This is the only kind of toaster I will ever buy, and probably the last one you will every need to buy.

Summary: It is expensive, but it lasts like the old fashioned toasters your grandmother had. I have had one for over 20 years and it still works like new. I bought this as a gift. When my children needed toasters, we got them this one. It is dependable, and makes great toast. It does take up a bit more counter space than some other models as it is a bit deeper, but it has an attractive retro quality.
Excerpt: The Dualit toaster is the Rolls-Royce of toasters. The toaster is solid, heats evenly and consistently, and well made. It cleans up easily, has solid controls, and will live for years and years. It also looks good on the counter - classic and enduring.
Pros: Even Heating, Excellent Heating, Lots of Room
Summary: This is the first time I've been compelled to write a product review. I saw all the mixed reviews before purchasing, but didn't want them to be true because I love the look of this toaster and at this price figured it has to be a quality item. It didn't work the first time I tried it. Then it worked fine for about 2 months. Now it will only heat up about 50% of the time. What a rip off.
