Summary: Finally we found a quality toaster. Well made with quality materials. We searched high and low at the box retailers and found nothing but the junk we've all been programmed to expect nowadays. The Dualit is truly made with the quality of yesteryear.
Summary: This is our second dualit toaster. We purchased our first one 23 years ago. The first one still works fine in our second home. The new one has an automatic timing feature, which we like. The German quality remains the gold standard, no signs of cheap outsourced parts on this toasters. We'll worth the value.
Summary: I previously owned this model toaster and loved it. It toasted very well. Due to a house fire I needed to replace it. The new one isn't toasting as well and sometimes need to be reinserted a second time. Very disappointed.
Summary: Okay, I'll admit it, but don't tell anyone - I'm a snob and loved this classy looking toaster with the BIG $$$ price since the first time I laid eyes on it and I wanted one! I did buy 2 of them prior to this one I bought on Amazon and neither of them worked more than a few days and went back for a refund to another very LARGE housewares seller.
Summary: Expensive toaster that is not reliable. Timer switch constantly gets stuck and must be monitored now when making toast - almost caused a fire and set off the fire alarms bringing three fire trucks to my home the first time this happened. Not what you would expect from a "high quality" $300+ toaster.
wonderful toaster - little to go wrong with the mechanical parts

Summary: if you want something that both looks good and is reliable this is the toaster for you - theres initial 'setup' in that you have to find your own favourite timing for different breads setting by just trying them out, but thats the beauty of it - however if you cant be bothered t do this and want to push a button and let something else do the thinking then maybe not....
Summary: I live in Scotland U.K. and have a Dualit 4-slice toaster. My son and his wife (live in U.S.A.) are due to move house in 2 weeks and i thought a perfect gift would be this toaster as they always commented on mine. They....as i thought, are thrilled!!! As myself they have a pannini machine so wouldn't bother with sandwich cage. Great addition to any kitchen and looks fantastic!!!
Bought used because too cheap to pay full price even though I've wanted a Dualit 4 slice for years.

Summary: I love toast and so does one of my sons. About 8 years ago I bought a 2 slice Dualit Light for about $80. It just broke, some of the heating elements have stopped functioning. Before that I had a clearance toaster from Lechmere that I bought for $20 in a going out of business sale. They both worked fine while I had them but I longed for perfectly evenly toasted bread, bagels, muffins. These toasters did not deliver this.
