Summary: I liked the look and size of this toaster oven but it has two major flaws: 1) Others have mentioned how hot the exterior gets. It's not only the metal part behind the handle, but also the metal part at the bottom of the door with the logo, and this area is within easy reach of my kids. The metal does not simply get warm, it is scorching. 2) the bake/broil function does not have an automatic shut off.
Summary: Not your average toaster. The Cuisinart TOB-155 takes the place of my oven for many of my cooking needs. Broil and oven function are spot on. Easy to clean and a striking addition to the counter top. I own and use other Cuisinart appliances and highly recommend them.
Summary: I bought this product as my last toaster oven stopped toasting. I shopped carefully as I wanted one that would serve as my main cooking tool. I never use my oven and rarely my stove top as I live in a warm climate. Everything works perfectly and it is truly smart. Defrosting is perfect and the controls allow you to personalize each function. I highly recommend this without question especially if you love perfect toast!
Summary: My older Cuisinart Toaster oven broiler died (my fault for trying to repair something myself) so I searched for a replacement at a comparable price. Found this one at Amazon and ordered it but didn't realize until I got it that it didn't have the convection feature that my previous oven had. Other than that I love it. Toasts evenly and the oven is large enough to bake a pie or even roast a quarter turkey or medium size piece of meat.
Summary: The lower heating elements have no diffuser or shielding. Therefore the food in the bottom of casseroles etc. is likely to get over-cooked 'stripes' because of concentrated heat. Remembering to rotate or shift the pan helps, but does not eliminate the problem.
Summary: I'm useless in the kitchen. I mean really useless. That's why I buy mainly frozen food that can be cooked in a microwave or toaster oven. Therefore, I want a "friendly" toaster oven, and trust me....this isn't it. The main issue is the silver bar BEHIND the handle. Nine out of ten times my knuckles graze that strip as I open the oven door, immediately causing minor burns. That strip is hotter than Hades!
Summary: I am surprised that no one picked up on this. The handle on the door is affixed to a metal strip that folds over into the oven. The problem is that when the oven is hot and you open the door it is virtually impossible to grasp the hande the way one would ordinarily do so with out burning yourself on the folded metal!! What you end up having to do is pinch the handle between your thumb and forefinger to open it. Bad bad bad.
Not stainless steel, toxic non-stick inner coating.

Summary: We are trying to get toxic cooking products out of our life. The inner walls are coated with a non-stick surface that out-gasses when used. I called the Cuisinart consumer line and they suggested returning it, that stated that they could not help, even though it is only when you buy the product, open it up, and look through the instruction book that you discover these issues.
