Summary: One normally does not give such items as a Christmas present, but I chanced it and my wife loves it (and I love the toast). It's only a few weeks in service, so I can't speak to the long term reliability, but so far it's a perfect appliance, at a very attractive price point.
Summary: Learning, that using defrost, means it toasts frozen bread; had expected only to defrost. The higher numbered settings can almost burn the thicker slices and English muffins. I realize I need to get used to it.
Summary: Since our old fashioned toaster expired after 12 years of good service, I am delighted with the many toasting options this model gives me. I am very pleased with it other than the fact that it does tend to over darken thick cut bread items on one side. That could be my fault because I haven't used it often enough as yet. Regardless, a wonderful product for a great price!
Summary: My previous Cuisinart toaster was excellent so I hoped this could replace it. The slots are too small for oval shaped bread, and it doesn't toast evenly top-to-bottom or front-to-back. One side of my bagel was toasted but the other side was burned.
