Summary: My Mom would Pop me upside the head if she knew I spent this much but this is one deluxe toaster! The cast metal is over-rated and I think the cool white skin on this model is perfect. The mechanics of this toaster seems prone to breakage but after a couple of months all is fine. The slots are ample for the biggest bagel or homemade bread. So splurge if it makes you happy. I'm liking it so far.

Summary: I liked the capacity, the features, and generally the way it toasted a variety of items: sliced bread, bagels, baguettes (sliced in half), and toaster waffles. It is easy to keep clean, and has the extra bonus of an easy-to-grab plug so I was never tempted to pull on the cord to unplug. Until it stopped working....
Summary: Purchased item as a gift, they accidentally moved lever to highest heat setting and toast caught on fire, melting out side of toaster. I don't think a toaster should be allowed to get hot enough to allow this, should be a safety feature to shut off
Summary: A toaster, especially one this expensive, should last more than 2 years. Is that too much to expect? We have had this less than 2 years and many of the wires no longer glow. So now I will be shopping for a new toaster and it will NOT be a Breville.
Poor quality control at the factory (like other models)

Summary: Just like the less expensive Cuisinart, this model comes from the factory with the heating wires on the outer sizes of the slots wound too tightly on the insulator, preventing many of the segments from glowing and toasting properly. This is fixable, but very annoying. I ultimately ordered three of these from Amazon. All were substantially identical. The heating wires on the inside of each pair of slots all light up properly.
Summary: We don't use it every day but when we do I really like the way it works, quiet and does a great job toasting. I thought it was a little pricy when I bought it but all considered I think it was a good value overall.
Pros: Easy To Clean, Even Heating, Excellent Heating, Lots of Room, Precise Controls, Pretty Much Does It All, Versatile
Summary: I ordered this toaster on 08.10.2013. I have used it 4 times. TODAY, 09.22.2013, it did not turn on, it is electrically dead. I have owned many toasters, from many manufacturers but never and I repeat never have I experienced such early, unexpected and complete failure of a unit. I don't want another. I give it 5 stars for appearance.
A more expensive toast really does make better toast.

Summary: My husband makes toast at least twice a day. He would never have spent this much for a toaster but he can't stop saying what perfect toast it makes. It operates on a lower heat than our previous toaster. This means the toast takes a bit longer but it also means our smoke alarm doesn't go off each time we use it, which it did with our previous model. The numbered settings actually seem to mean something other than not done, overdone and burnt.
Summary: I bought this toaster in February of 2012. It's a very nice looking toaster with a lot of useful features. If you buy this toaster have a good look at the labels and commit them to memory, because the first time you clean it they will all wipe off. Aside from not having the labels, the toaster worked well for about a year and a half and then suddenly started blowing every circuit we tried to plug it in to.
