Pending the action of Black & Decker
4 December 2012
Summary: We love the interior space. Larger than most. We are having an issue with a strange humming/hissing noise when power is initiated. It did not occur during the first week of usage. I am going to contact B & D customer service. My major concern is FIRE! I will let you know the outcome.
Summary: The toaster works great, but I'm not happy that the only way to clean it is a drop down bottom. Not the easiest thing to clean when hanging from the bottom of a cupboard. It should have a pull out try to clean the bottom. Would also be nice to have a tray you can insert for baking.
Summary: I ordered this toaster oven to replace a Black & Decker one I had for the past 10 years and without reading all the information about it I was disappointed after I had an employee install it for me and then discovered that it does not have a boiler that my old one had. It does not have buttons like my old one did but this one does not connect when I push the toaster button and I have to fool around with it to get it to work.
Black & Decker TROS1000 SpaceMaker Digital Toaster Oven
4 March 2012
Summary: The digital functionality of the product is well engineered. The installation hardware is a different story. Black & Decker have failed on several counts in their installation hardware kit and the documentation thereof. 1) The screw thread size for mounting the hood is not defined. While it is a 10-32 screw, it is very close to the M8-0.5 metric dimension, and can be easily mistaken for the latter if one is not used to measuring threads.
Black & Decker Spacemaker Toast Oven #TROS1000-handle broke

Summary: I purchased the B&D Spacemaker Toaster Oven TROS1000 from Amazon last year and installed it in April upon receipt. Today, the right side of the door handle came off. Prior to purchasing this oven, I owned a space-maker(B&D) toaster oven for 15 years before it finally broke. I am so disappointed that less than a year, the handle is broken. I wrote to Black & Decker today and hope that I will not be given a bad time over obtaining a replacement door for this unit.
Doesn't occupy shelf space, but not a good toaster

Summary: We bought this toaster oven 6 months ago and use it daily. While it does meet our primary criterion (fitting under the counter), we have not been very pleased with it otherwise. Within the first couple months, the handle fell off. B&D did replace it (though first we had to cut off and mail them the plug, leaving us completely toaster-less for a couple weeks).
Summary: I've gone through two of the older model Black & Decker SpaceMaker toaster ovens in the past 20 years. I was thrilled to find they had brought them back but I was very disappointed with what they came back with. It's tiny and is almost impossible to get the oven to hang securely from the bracket. I can't believe Black & Decker does not provide any trays for the oven. Anything I bake has to be at least 25 degrees less than what is called for or it burns.
Summary: This toaster oven is constantly burning my food even on the lowest setting. It actually set 1 piece of toast on fire. When I opened the door, the oven continued to cook. The shelf that the food goes on is too close to the heating element. What is worse is that when you open the front to remove what has been cooked, the shelf does not advance so you actually have to put your hand INSIDE the hot oven to retrieve what you've cooked.
Summary: This toaster oven replaces a B&D toaster that was 15 yrs old and reached the end of a productive life thru my mistake, Not B&D. I had for months considered replaceing the oven because of its age, I use this every day and did not want to be w/o one. I put off purchase of a new oven after reading all the reviews, scoping out the local stores and other on line stores, nothing seem to please me. Well the old one finally went belly up, I was w/o a toaster oven.
Summary: After reading the reviews I was a bit nervous about the installation. BUT as soon as I received the toaster I was relived. First thing "I" did was toss the instructions out. Looked at what I was trying to accomplish and start the project. Yes the screws are a limiting factor. I did not have any over hang so my insulation might have been a bit different then most.
