Summary: We use our West Bend egg and muffin toaster several times per week!! The egg cooker is designed to shut off automatically when a measured amount of water turns to steam. My husband decided one day to put a precooked sausage patty on the perforated cover directly over the egg. It worked great!! Now he can get a sausage with his egg and cheese muffin. My favorite feature is that I can cooked four boiled eggs to perfection without having to set a timer.
Summary: Owned this for about 2-3 months. At first I was in love with it, made egg sandwiches all the time. It was simple and quick and my 10 year old daughter's new favorite thing, so easy she was making herself breakfast! However, it took about 2 months of light use for it to just stop poaching the eggs. Then, I was using it as a toaster but it makes the toast very dry and takes FOREVER just to toast a piece of bread. I had my last toaster for over 10 years..
Summary: Worth the money. We use it all the time. Great to boil eggs for 4 and make toast. HINT: Poke the hole in the larger end of the egg--and insert your egg in the machine upside down--it prevents splatters. Also, the egg compartment cleans easily with a green Scotchbrite scour pad.
Summary: My main problem is the egg cup, which has a poorly coated nonstick surface that WILL start flaking off no matter how carefully you wash it.We went through 2 in less than 8 months with the second being extra carefully washed. This was used around 4 times a week so you can figure on replacing the egg poacher after around 75 uses!
Summary: I bought this appliance about a year ago and have used it a lot. We love it. It works great as a regular toaster, and as an egg poacher. The sides are cool to the touch. I really only have one minor complaint and that is that if you use it to cook and egg and toast / muffin at the same time, the bread is done much quicker than the egg and cools off too much - this isn't a big deal though - just do the egg and then do the bread right after - that works just fine because...
Summary: i had one of these and the nonstick coating in the egg tray peeled , it was a pain to wash and you had to wash between each person's meal which slowed things up in the morning for multiple people in the house. tossed it after a couple months when the toaster wasnt working right.
Summary: Bought this to keep up at work. Everyone who sees this "toaster" are amazed and ask where I got it, how is like it, etc. The only down side is that occasionally, the steaming tray shuts off before boiling all the water (undercooking the eggs), or eggs gets out of the tray into the boiling pan, making cleaning a bit more effort.
Summary: I've owned this toaster now for about six weeks, and use the egg poaching attachment regularly (2-3 times each week) to make breakfast sandwiches for my wife, daughter, and myself. I have also used it to hard-boil eggs a couple times for egg salad. As far as the single egg poaching attachment goes, it is simple to operate and results in a nicely cooked egg. I generally cook the egg first, first adding a small bit of olive oil to the pan, then toast the muffin.
Summary: I'm not usually a contraption type but I adore this and use it all the time! It's great for just making eggs with minimal effort or for the full, delicious breakfast sandwich. I have also just made the eggs with the meat for a low carb, high protein option. I was buying frozen breakfast sandwiches, hoping for my teen who likes to sleep until the last minute would still have a full breakfast on the go.
Summary: The family loves this toaster. Very easy to use. The only thing is it states it will keep the toast warm while the egg continues cooking and it does not. We just push it back down for a few seconds when eggs done. I would recommend.
