Summary: The unit was intended for security monitoring. It is working beautifully. Overall appearance is pleasing to the eyes and it is not too heavy, yet stunning detail in resolution even in close distance makes the unit standout from the other unit.
Westinghouse is an affordable option but not a great picture
1 January 2011
Excerpt: Got one of these to put in the lunch room at the office based on a recommendation from a guy in the audio visual industry. I should have paid another few dollars and gotten the Toshiba that I bought for my mom. The picture is just not that great. I know all flat panels have bad quality pictures when they do not get an HD feed and our standard cable feed without a box does not get too many HD feeds.
Excerpt: This television has been nothing but great! I too, purchased this LCD HDTV during Target's black Friday sale in 2010. I really hadn't heard much about "Westinghouse' and started to assume it was perhaps an "off brand," and didn't really expect the best quality product, but for $298 at the time it was such a good deal, I could not pass it up.
Excerpt: I picked this HDTV up from Target on Black Friday in 2010 and am currently using it to write this review while watching HULU TV on the side. I could not be more satisfied with this TV. I find it brighter than many others on the market from much more reputable brands. The color and contrast are fantastic as well. Although it is only a 60Hz TV, i notice no problems with sports or video games. Beware the contrast ratios that other brands use.
Excerpt: I got one of the $300 models. Right out of the box, the stand was missing a crucial piece. I couldn't even set it up. Though I tested it & it worked. So I put it back in the box & called Westinghouse for the missing piece. They told me they would FedEx the piece. After 2 weeks, I called again. They claimed the piece had been out of stock in their warehouse. A week leater I got the piece in the mail. Finally, I could use it.
Excerpt: I got a pretty good deal on this Televison. I thought I did, anyway. I do not have any issues with the picture. It's always been very clear, even without hd. We have a Roku box in there to stream Netflix. My only problem was when we bought a larger television for the living room, we moved this one to our bedroom. After we disconnected it from the surround sound we realized how awful the sound is. You have to turn it up really loud to hear it and then it sounds distorted.
