This Westinghouse TV is the Bomb

Jon, Target
25 February 2014
  • Summary: I purchased this TV about a month ago on Sale with the three-year protection plan. Putting the TV together out-of-the-box was very simple with the use of the enclosed screwdriver. Setting up the TV was just as easy. Using the OSD menus for picture and sound along with the advanced settings I got the picture perfect in about 15 minutes. About the questions regarding the 120Hz.

Nice TV but don't know about 120Hz refresh

Eric, Target

  • Summary: This was a Black Friday online purchase and it was a smokin' deal. The TV looks sleek and I don't have any problems with picture or sound. My only concern is that I don't see anywhere on the box that it is a 120Hz refresh rate and the onscreen display always says 60Hz. Anyone else have this problem or know how to get to 120Hz? I like the TV and I would definitely buy it again.

Let's cut the clutter - a straightforward review

  • Summary: This is a cheap tv. As such, expectations should be low. At such a low price, you really have no excuse for not buying the Target extended warranty - up to 3 years if it dies, you just get your money back, no hassles with Westinghouse. TV picture quality is good after you make adjustments, and the menu provides a surprising number of adjustments. Large screen for the money, pretty bright, but still thin in profile and light in weight.

No complaints!

  • Summary: I dont know what everyone is complaining about. Many of the reviews complained about the picture quality. My guess is that they do not have it set up properly. Our picture quality is perfect! Many reviews complained that the sound quality is poor. Some said it's "tinny". Sounds great to me! My son even said it sounds better than our last TV! I would absolutely recommend this TV.

Good TV at a great price, easy set-up

Cecile, Target

  • Summary: Set-up was super easy - there is even a screwdriver included to attach the base. The on-screen set-up is very easy as well. I had the TV unpacked, put together an on watching a program in less than 15 minutes. The picture quality is very good. As other people pointed out the sound is average. This product is an excellent choice for someone who does not need or want a smart TV.

Stopped working, won't even turn on.

  • Summary: We purchased the 40" Westinghouse about 14-15 months ago at a "great price". It worked fine up until it just turned off completely- not even a stand-by light. The tv is just completely dead, tried troubleshooting. The manual offers NO real troubleshooting tips (only things like- Remote stopping working, change the batteries; Sound not working, press the mute button). Yes, it was a great price but considering it was only good for about a year- it was a lousy purchase.

Waste of Money

Jeff, Target
7 January 2014
  • Summary: The picture quality is terrible. Yes, it was a low price at the holidays, but there was a reason for that. The volume level is also too low and the wiring connection locations are very awkward at best. Don't waste your money and time on this one. It has the picture quality of an old non-led first generation LCD flat screen TV.

Bad TV, worse company

Guest, Target
27 December 2013
  • Summary: It is the hope of every consumer to purchase a reliable product. Failing this, it is the hope of every consumer to have a company that stands behind their product and their name. Failing this, it is the hope of ever consumer to be heard when complaints are raised, to be respected when they contact the company, and to receive a timely response to a query/complaint. Westinghouse Digital has failed in every conceivable measure. Our TV was obviously cheap, but it worked.
