Summary: The warranty of 1 year is not enough for this TV, Right after 1 year 2 months, the picture use to go away while your program was still on but after a while it use to come back. This continued for 2-3 months now the picture has gone for good the technical support asked me to perform a power cycle which did not help. Now I have to get it checked by a technician as the warranty is over.
Summary: There is a problem with this TV that causes the picture to freeze at random times, then after about a minite it will go thru an automatic re-boot. For the first 9 months it worked perfectly. The problem started after an automatic firmware update. Each replacement TV has the same problem once it downloada the updated firmware. There is no way to keep this from downloading.
Great TV For The Price I Paid! But Buy From an Authorized Vizio Dealer

Summary: This 47 inch Vizio is a great TV for the price I paid. Wonderful high end electronic specs translate into great true to life/natural color, clear picture, and sound. 240 hz refresh rate, 1080p, full HD picture, wireless internet built in, internet apps. I could not find another TV with these features for the price I paid. So far, after about 1 year, it continues to work well and would recommend buying a Vizio TV.
Summary: Things can always change but my Vizio has been fine since my purchase 20 months ago - still going strong. For those who may respond and say I'm one of the lucky ones, if you go to Consumer Affairs for any LCD brand, you will find tons of complaints for all brands - including Samsung, LG, Sony and Panasonic. My wife has a different 32' Vizio model purchased Feb 2010 and it too is still going strong. Am I recommending Vizio. No. But this has been my experience thus far.
XVT473SV is Out of Commission - Sound with no Picture

24 June 2012
Summary: Unfortunately, I will now be dealing with the same issue as many other reviewers. My TV is 4 months out of warranty; it was purchased in March of last year and now the unit has sound, but no picture to accompany it. This is obviously a recurrent problem that apparently has been swept under the rug by Vizio.
Summary: Ok, to be brutally honest, Kitchen of Glam didn't fully disclose or prepare me for the extensive cosmetic damage to the frame and remote of this tv. Initially I was devastated after spending around $750. It also does not come with a manual, so get ready to use the online one for set up. However, the picture and function of the tv is wonderful so far. We've had a few glitches, but have worked them out so far.
Don't Be A Sucker-Lots of These Die Right after warranty period expires
14 May 2012
Summary: Don't be a sucker! I bought this TV not paying attention to those product reviews that said the screen went out (flickers to black) just after the warranty period expired. Well it just happened to me. Vizio help was nice but clueless. They spent 15 minutes trying to help by resetting all functions. Screen went out again in the middle of everything. Now nothing works and can't get a picture to fix it. They gave me the phone number of a national tech service I can call.
VIZIO XVT473SV 47-inch Class Full Array TruLED LCD HDTV 240 Hz SPS with VIZIO Internet Apps

Summary: I must say that this TV meets and exceeds our greatest expectations. All of the great reviews were correct both here at Amazon and across the Internet. It comes with Internet access (including wireless) and some great widgets. We get a lot of use from Pandora, VUDU and Netflix as well as current weather and forecast widgets. (We have our TVs via ethernet cable however so I have not tested the wireless). No 3D but we didn't want any at this point.
Summary: My $1,400 VIZIO XVT473 experienced what VIZIO called an "exceptional" and "unfixable" failure just past warrantee. But even in this exceptional failure situation, where the device was clearly defective, VIZIO's suggested resolution is to sell me a previously-returned unit with significantly fewer features and just a 90-day warrantee...for about the price I can find that lesser model at online retailers.
Cons: Multiple technical difficulties during the 14 months between purchase and total failure of the display panel. I told Vizio it's wrong for a $1,400 TV to completely fail after just 14 months--their attitude can be summed up as: 'too bad, so sad.'
