Summary: I have two of these. Honestly this is the best world of warcraft gaming monitor I have ever used. My first one died due to a problem with a capacitor on the monitors motherboard. This is somewhat common after a lot of hours of usage. I ended up cracking the thing open and doing surgery to repair it. When I found I could get one refurbished, I did. Great for internet and movies also.
Summary: This is one of the most color sharp monitors I have ever used! In spite of the size, text is still clear and works wonderfully as a for my computer needs unlike many big screen monitors It is great for streaming movies as well. Lots of ports and a pretty monitor to boot! I had an HP 27", and this one puts it to shame.
Summary: As others have noted in separate reviews, the monitor seems too good to be true, and it is. After 15 months of use, mine exhibited the previously noted 2-3 seconds of backlight coming on, then going off and staying off. So either the backlight and / or the backlight control circuitry is bad. Vizio has discontinued this product. Only a one year warranty so except for American Express warranty I'd be out of luck.
Summary: Ive own many monitors in my life - everything from a 13 inch crt to present day lcd's I bought this monitor replacing my HP 22 inch i bought from circuit city for $425 bucks I thought I was in high cotton until i powered up this bad boy. I paid just over $300 at Costco I havent looked back and you wont either.. its that good..
Summary: Well, in the past I haven't had any monitors this size so this is like a totally awesome experience for me. I think I kinda wet myself a little bit when I opened the box to see how big the screen was. Well, it isn't small, I'll give you that. It's really huge and like a tv. That said.... it pretty much is a tv and a monitor in one. I am running Windows 7 and put the thing at the highest it will go, but the refresh rating is 59 at that point.
Summary: I really liked this monitor when I bought. The screen size, color, everything. Then it happened. I have only owned the monitor for a little over 7 months. I turned on my computer and the monitor came on for 2 seconds and then went black. The monitor was still on and the computer was running but there was no picture. Restared same thing. Unplugged the monitor for 45 min. Same thing. Put the monitor on a different computer - same thing.
Summary: Got two of these from Costo about 9 months ago in sept. 2009. Both burned out April 2010 and May 2010. Will not get another one due to poor life span! It is very unusual both of my monitors only lasted about 9 months! It has to be poor quality. I do like the USB, speakers, and glass screen. I could not find another monitor this size w/ USB & speakers. But not worth the poor quality. Now I got the HP 2709m. works great but more expensive.
Summary: Its definitely a great monitor, so great I wish I could have bought it new. Unfortunately not everyone has $600 to invest in on a new monitor, so I went with the next best thing, refurbished. It just came in a few days ago, and I have to say this thing is a monster. Strong heavy steel base, easy to assemble, adjustable height, touch settings, this thing is great. Sadly, After getting it all setup I found the reason why "refurbished" should never be a first choice.
Summary: This monitor has fantastic sound quality for a monitor of this size. I recently bought (and returned) a Samsung 24" computer monitor and it's no contest--the Samsung 2494HM speakers are thin and tinny--in fact they don't play as loudly as my Toshiba Laptop speakers) Video quality of the Vizio is excellent but not QUITE as bright as some other monitors.
