Vizio has always intrigued me. And their top of the line SV470XVT 47-inch LCD TV is no exception. It's the brand I get asked about the most - probably because it's available in a majority of big box stores like SAMs, Costco and Sears. Heck, even Dell sells them online. So it's almost a monthly (sometimes weekly) event where I'll get a call from somebody asking me about the latest Vizio deal they found while they were shopping for lawn gnomes and 5 pound bags of white... Vizio has wisely chosen to enter the 120Hz market, and the SV470XVT represents one of the best deals in town for a 47-inch, 1080p HDTV with a 120Hz frame rate. Its features and connection options aren't quite as generous as those of some higher-end TVs, but all the necessities are in place to make this a good HDTV option. Read more

The key to visual bliss is found in one of two categories: a) which displays do it best, or b) which displays do it “good enough” that they become bargains for consumers. Nobody wants a TV that sucks, but they might take a cheaper model if it still… Read more

Loved the tv and got it at a good price, but then after about 3 months it got into a state where it would work for about 30 mins, then the picture would go black with weird lines all over the place. Need to read more reviews before I buy cheap stuff :( Gonna go get a samsung tonight. Read more
I wanted to replace a 7 year old rear projection 53" Sony TV and had liked the quality of the Vizio, Sony and LG. I looked in several stores and saw the Vizio VL470m and Sony Bravia 47" 120 hz side by side, the only way I could sum up the picture on the Vizio was that there were only 3 times I had a jaw dropping experience in my life, 1) when my wife accepted my marriage proposal, 2) when I first laid eyes on my newborn son and 3) when I turned on my new Vizio set....
