The Vizio SV470XVT is not a bad choice for the price of it, you’re most likely not going to find a 120Hz HDTV for this price from any other manufacturer. Vizio has done well with this HDTV, though there are some improvements that could be made to it, especially the cluttered inputs and the remote. The other problems I mentioned are more personal preference than anything, like things looking live and not having enough inputs. Read more

Purchased this Vizio tv back in May 2009 needless to say after doing a lot of research on this one...it got us anyway. Dec 2011 no video after many of weeks waiting for parts the service guy could not repair it. Thank heaven we bought the extended warranty cause we are getting a full refund and are currently looking into another brand TV. Buyer beware of this one. Read more
Buy Dakota has been wonderful to deal with. They refunded the price of the extended warranty that I purchased through them, when the unit arrived DOA, and they have followed up to make sure I was satisfied. Vizio was a whole different story It took Vizio 18 days to get a technician out to repair it, and the Vizio Customer Service folks were barely responsive, insisting first that it was simply a faulty remote. Have had nothing but trouble with Vizio since we bought it last Christmas (2008). Got extended warranty and they have been very responsive to come out and replace the entire insides, but the TV keeps turning itself off and/or going mute all on it's own. Will not buy another Vizio or Samsung, who makes Vizio. Read more
