Summary: bought the Vizio m550sl from Costco Jan 29 2013 because it offers 2 yr warranty, and I bought another 3yrs for $60. First day after turning it on and trying to set some features the tv shorted a breaker and lost all power, called Costco and I had board replaced in 3 days, just before Super Bowl.Tech said it's always one of 2 boards and they go on all brands of TV's..Tv has been great until May 1,2014.
Summary: Had this over a year now. Picture is AMAZING, I like the internet-ready apps, programming is easy. When we use the TV sounds it's hard to distinguish it from when the home theater is hooked up. It's in a room that has two-story southern facing uncovered windows that could blind you with sunlight, and the picture from all angles still looks good. Very very happy with this one.
Pros: Great Price for refurbished, Packed very well, Rapid Newegg Standard delivery (always impressive), WiFi, 4 HDMI, 2 USB, Ethernet RJ45, Built in array of Apps, Beautiful Picture, Nice Sound, awesome controller with Qwerty Keyboard on back and Standard Controls on front, Very thin and light
Summary: I would buy this again. Since it was a refurb, I was really nervous. It turned out okay though since I LOVE this tv. Seriously, you get more than what your money pays for.
Pros: The TV is great. Connects to apps (mainly Netflix) very quickly and never buffers. Has a great look and I cannot see any damage to the front. All pixels are intact and is a GREAT tv for the price.
Cons: There was two dents on the back, making it so I could not use one screw on the base. This didn't matter much because I upgraded to a tilting tv wall mount.
Summary: I've had this TV for four months now and every time I turn it on Im just so in love with it. My girl said we should buy a Vizio because they were really nice TVs and I was skeptical at first. Bought the TV and after setup bam a beautiful ass picture and lovely sound. Thanks baby you were right and Vizio you're the s***. I couldn't be happier!!!
Summary: I bought another Vizio which I recently reviewed (and did not like) so I thought I'd go back and review this one. Sure, it's heavier than the newer models, but for me it has been reliable with a great picture and fantastic sound. Every once in a while the TV will "reset" and do a system update, but I've had to picture, sound or long term software issues that weren't fixed with an automatic update.
Summary: I originally bought this T.V. because it boasted all the features that I wanted for a much cheaper price. First off, the set occasionally turns off and blinks the power button for about 30 seconds then turns back on. Vizio customer support advised me this was normal and does so to prevent the set from crashing (crazy talk, I know).
