Better app function and more refined remote would yield more stars.

Summary: After being in awe over the look of this TV a years worth of use has left me frustrated. The apps are clunky and slow even hardwired to router. The remote is probably more worthless, It has potential but eats batteries and at times takes several button taps to "wake up" I'm just not that impressed with my first Vizio. The HDMI return channel function hasn't worked so i needed to run optical for my receiver when i use the TV apps. This was very frustrating.
Summary: I love this TV. The color accuracy is bar-none compared to other TV's I've looked at in the stores. I've had this TV for about 6 months now and finally got around to mounting it to my wall. Added with a little ambient LED light behind the screen, and it looks fantastic. The 3 HDMI ports support more than enough for what I need, and if you use devises like Chromecast, it automatically switches to the chromecast upon starting a stream (which I love).
Summary: It's okay for the money I guess. Remote is pretty atrocious, worst remote I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. You have to really twist an arm for it to get a signal with the tv. Backlight on the tv dims after a second and pressing any button on the remote brings it back up--that's really strange. For the money it's a perfectly fine television. It looks decent and it's a smart tv. But if you can afford something better get a Samsung.

Summary: Purchase date March 2014 I would have given this TV two stars, but if most people are like myself they only read the one star and five star reviews. Ok, this TV looks amazing out of the box, great picture when working properly and the aesthetics are remarkable. That being said, we had problems with the TV almost immediately.
Summary: It's not that great. I own a 37" 720p Vizio which I purchased several years ago and LOVE IT.. I purchased this unit when I re did my living room and moved the 720 to the bedroom, and now spend the majority of time watching tv back in the bedroom. However, rather than give an initial review when I first set it up, I thought I'd give it the benefit of the doubt and live with it for awhile.. Now, about about 6 months later, I absolutely hate this 47" TV..
Summary: First off, I was upset to receive this TV completely broken and cracked at first. Amazon was good enough to send a replacement via 1 day shipping. However, it was certainly a hassle to repackage and mail back the broken one to Amazon. Also, something seems to be wrong with the remote. It only seems to work about half the time, and barely works even then. (Yes, I've tried changing the batteries!) Finally, the "Smart TV" set up is AWFUL.
Summary: I wanted to upgrade my tv from an older LG LED tv (42) so I decided VIZIO. I have a degree in computer science so I put a lot of time researching for a good deal and have seen very good reviews on vizio products as being good value. It overall is a good tv but it's not amazing. The viewing angles are nowhere near as good as my older LG, which is a total shame. The screen is very glossy which I do not like because it reflects everything.
Summary: This is easily one of the best television sets you will find in this price range. I actually got mine from Sams Club at a ridiculously cheap $550. For that price you are basically getting a TV with the bells and whistles of a $1000 TV. With the box you get a power cord, and a "smart remote". I put it in quotes because it really is no different than any other normal remote for a TV set.
