Best and worst purchase of my life

jcan, Amazon
23 June 2014
  • Summary: I will start off by saying I don't do reviews however this time is different. I just got off the phone with Vizio and I am set to get my 4th tv in a little over 6 months freight delivered to me. Yup you read it correctly 4th the longest I have had this model tv working correctly is 3 months, shortest was 30 minutes; so far two display issues and one power issue and Vizio gets prissy when I ask what problem the next one will have.

Vizio 70" LCD - Not Good Larry

music85, Amazon
24 April 2014
  • Summary: - Purchased a VIZIO E701i-A3 70-inch LCD on 12/2013 - 02/2014, the set went out, no picture just sound - Called Vizio, they comped a Service call and repair, but would not replace, because I'm out of warranty by 1 1/2 months. - 6 weeks later, after 3 technician visits, every board changed, ruling is screen was bad, DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT in the screen. FYI - Visio probably spend $400-$600 trying to repair it.

Vizio E701i 70 TV - Never buying Vizio products again

Tamara Ellis, Amazon
8 April 2014
  • Summary: We bought this TV in December of 2013 as a family Christmas present. The shipping process went like clockwork. It delivered on time and by the time the delivery folks left it was set up and running. The picture was great and we loved it from the start. Fast forward 3 months. After about 3 months to the date of purchase, it developed a thin red verticle line from top to bottom. When we called Vizio they said it needed to be replaced.

  • Summary: I bought this TV in September. By the end of February, it showed signs of issues with the backlight. Specifically, corners would sporadically be significantly darker than the rest of the screen to the point where it looked like shadows were cast over them. With the cost of this TV, I was unhappy with this. When a $1700 TV fails to function correctly for even 6 months, it makes you want your money back.

DX, TigerDirect.com
21 March 2014
  • Summary: Died after 7 months, called for service to repair. Had to be replaced. Vizio wanted to exchange for a refurbished TV. Explained to them if I had wanted refurbished I would have paid the discounted price, I wanted new TV. I've found little consideration for consumer from Vizio.

TV worked great for few months but then I notice a large flashlight beam coming from the bottom right of my VIZIO

Baladi, Amazon
23 February 2014
  • Summary: After working great for few months I noticed a large flashlight beam coming from the bottom right of my VIZIO E701i-A3 when there is a movie scene with dark screen or when I navigate to a screen that is dark or black. The TV is still under the one year warranty, so I sent several pictures by email to customer service. The answer from VIZIO was that it is normal and they couldn't do anything to solve the problem.

Do not buy - defective units still exist - Vizio avoids replacing

Jon Langevin, Amazon
5 November 2013
  • Summary: The E701i-A3 model (70") from Vizio *still* has defects causing the screen to go black during playback. The backlight is completely off when this happens (so complete black), yet the audio continues. Waiting several minutes results in the picture coming back, or alternatively bringing the TV system menu up brings the picture back.
