Summary: Ordering a huge T.V. on line was really taking a chance, but I did and I have never been sorry. It arrived on time and in perfect condition. The picture is really exceptional. I do have some issues with the sound as it seems to drop in and out at times, especially during commercials when it becomes three times as loud as the regular programming. However that may not be a faulty sound system so much as a programming problem.
Summary: I have a large, pre-amplified, rooftop antenna, yet this TV is not capable of receiving many of the local channels. I plugged the exact same coax into a Philips TV that I borrowed from a friend, and it gets all of the local channels and many from surrounding cities. Vizio technical support insists that the TV is working as expected. Their claim is that as long as the tuner gets at least 1 channel, it's not defective. They refuse to do anything to solve the problem.
Excerpt: I have never had Vizio before and did not know much about the brand but saw this TV and had to have it, its perfect size, and very clear picture quality, this was our first flat screen and it is amazing, its a large size but not that heavy it has handles on the sides so its easy to lift, and seems very durable, even with a four year old.
Excerpt: We needed a new t.v. and this one was in our price range. It is big without being too big and works great. We have had absolutely no problems with it and have been very happy with it. I got it for a gift for my hubby and he was thrilled. It is in our "man cave" and takes up a whole wall making it look bigger than it is which I think is perfect! It connects well to our game systems as well which was a big must. We would definitely buy this t.v. again.
Summary: Though my review is not for this specific model, my experience with Vizio I'm sure is not unique. I must say that when my Vizio worked, it worked well. The picture and features were very nice. However 2 months out of warranty there was a loud POP and the picture died. Customer service was no help, and gave me a number of a company in Florida that does "out of warranty" work for Vizio (I'm in New York).
Summary: This is NOT the specified Model of the televison. The television I got was a Model #E552VLE. This is a CHEAPER model and is not rated as high at the #E552VL. You can buy MOdel #E552VLE at walmart for less than a thousand dollars. The only reason I ordered online was to get the VL model. I am SO disappointed that we now have to lug this HUGE heavy tv which requires TWO people to move, BACK for pickup delivery. I will never order a TV online again.
