Excerpt: I like this television...it has a great picture and was reasonably priced. What scares me is now the longer I've had it, the longer it seems to take to turn on. Right now we're at about 40 seconds from the time you press power until the actual picture shows up. Seems to be taking longer and longer, worried about what will happen next!
Excerpt: After reviewing the March 2008 edition of Consumer Reports, I chose three brands: Toshiba, RCA and Vizio. All three rated high in Consumer Report so I asked my wife to check them out for me and she chose the Vizio. It's modern look works well in our small senior citizen apartment. It's handsome and views great from the front and side! I paid $464.00 from Wal-Mart. Circuit City had the 20 inch for $399.00.
Excerpt: I have the Vizio 37" HDTV and I absolutely love it. The picture and sound quality and great. I would recommend this television to anyone. The price was also very good when bought and have had no problems with the set.
Excerpt: You may have seen my initial [June 2008] Review of the Vizio - VW 26L HDTV when I first purchased it. I did not have much positive to say about it...pixels drive me Nuts, signal has to adjust, unpredictable TV-VIEWING, etc. More and worse problems occurred after the 2009 TV-signal-change. For quite a while, I had to regularly [weekly] scan my TV Channels.
Unpredictable TV Viewing, but it 'adjusts' - VIZIO VW26L HDTV

Excerpt: I am one who is behind-the-time in technology - I don't purchase up-to-date tech until I NEED it... so in May 2008 , to replace my Sears Brand bulky Antenna TV that begun to annoyingly hummmmm ,** I selected the VIZIO VW26L HDTV from Walmart.** It was frustrating for me to correctly connect my DVD & VCR to this HDTV. SOUND & PICTURE: I'm not always impressed with the sound & picture - I never know what I'm gonna see or hear when I settle down to watch TV in the evening.
Excerpt: i got this Vizio 26" inch LCD HDTV for christmas last year from my dad. Since my old tv went haywire (turns off by itself, kinda annoying!) I been watching alot of dvds on my new tv hooked up to my Sony 1080p upconvert DVD player. The LCD picture quality is amazing...up to 1080i~ The price for this LCD tv is really awesome. I got it at Walmart for under $525, though i did some comparison against other name brand tv's.
Excerpt: Great TV for the money. Picture is awesome! The sound, however was undesireable, especially commercials until I added some computer speakers using the headphone jack (a little velcro holds them to the TV nicely as I have the TV hanging from the ridge beam of the of our log home). Turned the volume to the max on the speakers and am able to control the volume from the remote. N.
Excerpt: My husband and I bought our Vizio from WalMart about two years ago and can't say enough about what a great television this is! I hate to admit it, but our t.v. is on a lot! The picture quality and sound clarity can't be beat! We love this television! We also have HD channels through our satellite dish company and those channels appear better that real life! Is that possible? I don't know but I hope that Vizio keeps on making perfect televisons.
Summary: Couldn't recommend Vizio, although it appears from others' comments on other brands' some don't start out with good picture or sound at all! My Vizio performed beautifully until it died. Confused as to what brand to replace with on this size screen (limited space) but Vizio is still cheaper and nice while it lasts.
Pros: Beautiful picture and design; sound fine.
Cons: Didn't last beyond 3 years; paid $500 at Walmart in 2008, in 2011, one month after Walmart's 2yr Extended Warranty expired, got no power (learned it is common). Cost to repair close to current purchase price of current models approx over $200.
