Summary: I also own the venerable Viewsonic N2750W and, although its 7 years old, it is still a better model. The quality of the plastics, the matte finish, the speakers, the inclusion of PIP & POP, the firmware's built in sleep behavior... all of these features are missing from the VT2730.
Pros: Overscan option built into the unit so its very compatible with using it as a PC monitor (which I am doing). You can name the inputs whatever you want (some other TV manufacturers still haven't learned that their customers WANT to do this!). No dead pixels in my unit. The LCD panel itself is quit...
Cons: Audible hum from backlight when choosing anything but "high" setting. Backlight is not very adjustable, you get 4 settings and all but the high settings hum. I seem to have settled on "medium" as my preferred setting. Going to see if I can get used to the hum. Speakers are awful. They sound hollo...
Not that great, although the price is good for the specs.

Summary: I ended up exchanging this TV once, and then returning the second one as well. This is because of two reasons, one being more important. The more important issue I have with this TV is the annoying amount of backlight bleeding that is emitted around the edge of the display.
Summary: This set is just ik average set for the price. I have been using this as a bedroom set and it is hook up to a stereo system which makes the sound better for listening to music from the xm radio or to enhance movies, but it is not a Sony Bravia type.
Summary: The picture quality of this TV was excellent. I got the VT2730 to use as a monitor for my home computer, and decided on this one because it had inputs that I felt were more usable than the standard computer monitor.
Summary: 11/13/2011 - I use this to go over my clients' accounts with them. It's nice, bright and clear. I've only had it for 10 months so I can't speak to longevity, but it is working great. Update 5/31/2012 - Unfortunately I'm starting to see image shadows on my screen.
Summary: I received this TV as a birthday present and I like it for the most part. The sound is terrible, though. There is always a slight hum that comes with the display, but when I turn off the display (switch it to "Audio only" mode), the humming goes away.
Summary: Pricier than what I was expecting to get and a little disappointed. Pros: Excellent picture quality with a very usable viewing angle. Easy hook up with plenty of connections. Simple set up. Cons: Terrible sound. Fortunately it has an audio out to hook to your home sound system.
Summary: Like a few other reviewers, the size of this tv fit perfectly in our old Ethan Alan tv cabinet. The picture is very good and the tuner brings in 62 digital channels. We do not have a cable box; we connect cable directly to tv. The problem comes when trying to connect dvd recorder.
