Neither do pictures ever approach benchmark in standard, although from HD it's hard to find any serious faults. The pictures do occasionally lack depth, but ViewSonic has come up with an absolute bargain that will suit anyone wanting a reputable screen primed for HD to slot into a home cinema set-up. Just don't expect all the fun of the lower-quality fare. Read more

I just brought a brand new ViewSonic LCD TV with built-in HD tunner. It came with problems that the HD tunner has to change channel from high number to low number, or it will not show the TV program. Say you want to watch channel 5, if you were at channel 4, move up to 5, the TV shows no program. But if you move up to channel 7, then move down to 5, TV will show the program. Read more

I've alwasy liked the Viewsonic computers monitors. They had bright crisp looking screens and were relatively inexpensive. I thought it would be safe to buy this TV without seeing it in person given my previous experience with Viewsonics. Boy, I was wrong! All I can think of is that I got a lemon. I can't believe that other reviewers, who praise this TV, can look a the picture I see and still like it. Read more

    • Cheaper than competition at the time of purchase. That's about it.
    • The worst picture I have seen among HD TVs. It lacks depth and contrast. No amount of tuning helps. Bulky, thick and heavy for it's size. Unapealing looks, cheap looki...

Using the same technology that made them well-known for producing top notch computer monitors, ViewSonic has made a name for itself in the television market as well. The ViewSonic N3760w proves to be a nice start in what could be a bright future.

With great color reproduction, the unit showed true to life representation in a wide color pallet including the, sometimes troublesome, flesh tones. The unit is easy to set up and provides a fair amount of options and features, including S-video inputs, and VGA, HDMI and RF video connections. The remote control operates well from a considerable distance, however it is disappointingly not backlit, making it difficult to operate in a dimly lit setting.

The ViewSonic boasts a very nice picture quality, however, the audio portion of the system left something to be desired. With muddied sounds and difficulty hearing conversation it scenes with a great deal of additional audio content, the speakers deliver a feeble and less than pleasing sound quality.

The color diffusion was vivid with excellent, true-to-life clarity offering the viewer a feast for the eyes. The unit also did exceptionally well in a brightly lit room. In addition, there is limited screen distortion in scenes with high action and it did not have the smudging effect that is all too common in wide screen televisions.

A great first attempt by ViewSonic, the N3760w is a good buy at an affordable $2,000.
