Using the same technology that made them well-known for producing top notch computer monitors, ViewSonic has made a name for itself in the television market as well. The ViewSonic N3760w proves to be a nice start in what could be a bright future.

With great color reproduction, the unit showed true to life representation in a wide color pallet including the, sometimes troublesome, flesh tones. The unit is easy to set up and provides a fair amount of options and features, including S-video inputs, and VGA, HDMI and RF video connections. The remote control operates well from a considerable distance, however it is disappointingly not backlit, making it difficult to operate in a dimly lit setting.

The ViewSonic boasts a very nice picture quality, however, the audio portion of the system left something to be desired. With muddied sounds and difficulty hearing conversation it scenes with a great deal of additional audio content, the speakers deliver a feeble and less than pleasing sound quality.

The color diffusion was vivid with excellent, true-to-life clarity offering the viewer a feast for the eyes. The unit also did exceptionally well in a brightly lit room. In addition, there is limited screen distortion in scenes with high action and it did not have the smudging effect that is all too common in wide screen televisions.

A great first attempt by ViewSonic, the N3760w is a good buy at an affordable $2,000.

Caution! make sure you want a "VIEWSONIC LCDTV DISPLAY".I have a N3250w LCDTV Display since Dec. 2005. The first 9 months, we were pleased with the picture using the 16:9 option even though we didn't subscribe to Cable HD Service. Then we saw what I call 'burn in" that just got worse each day. That became dark bands outside od the 4:3 display and eventually also have dark blotchy in rest of screen. I called Viewsonic Service and they could not help me as we were outside... Read more
