Following in the footsteps of its big brother the ViewSonic N3760, the 32-inch version offers many of the same features with an easy to swallow list price of around $1,300. The ViewSonic N3260 provides good picture quality and does a fair job of reproducing colors.

The television supplys a fair amount of connectivity, common for sets of this price and size. Included in the package are one VGA, two HDMI and two RF video inputs. The unit is powered by a less than desirable remote, which while functional from a fair distance from the set, has a plethora of useless buttons and an overpopulated faceplate, that is made worse by the lack of a backlighting option. The ViewSonic’s over the air tuner is also restrictive in the fact that it will not allow the user to program in channels that are not picked up during the initial auto scan feature in the set-up mode.

While the color quality of the unit is adequate, it does not measure up to many of its competitors. The color temperature airs on the side of blue rather than black and flesh tones have a washed out appearance. Furthermore, the unit has a hard time delivering in scenes with a great deal of black, looking shadowed or ghosted in appearance. It also does not deliver an accurate amount of clarity in darker footage. The ViewSonic delivers jagged edges in scenes with high action as well as those requiring a considerable degree of picture clarity.

While the ViewSonic is not in the front of the pack with regard to features and functions, nor does it provide an over-the-top picture quality, it is still a fair unit for its price point and offers an adequate presentation for the average viewer.
