Cons: HDMI with PC doesn't really give much above it's native resolution. It is limited to 29/30 Hz refresh in 1080I mode and 16 bit colors. Text below 12 point is almost unreadable at the highest resolution and I shudder at any graphics on the screen from the PC. And, the VGA input won't even try to g...
Summary: I purchased 13 of these screens to use in a TV studio production area. Our old black and white CRT's are dying and these little screens work great. I noticed that older reviews of this TV say the viewing angle is bad, but I find they are much better than other screens I compared to in the stores.
Pros: Bright image lots of connections nice large button remote great screen size VESA mounting HDMI VGA Component Composite Clear QAM tuner, will find free digital channels when connected to cable.
Cons: speakers, but not using those... Kinda thick for LCD, but Power supply is built in, (NO BRICK!!) Menu is hard to see as the OSD background is blue to white from left to right, the text is white so you can't read the part on the right hand side very well.
Pros: Excellent picture quality. Great connectivity and functionality.
Cons: Worst audio quality I've ever heard. Fortunately, there is a headset output which can be connected to external speakers. However, the power is so low that they need to be powered speakers to get adequate volume. Channel scanning takes about ten minutes. Some of the channels get dropped infrequent...
Summary: I have had a 22" in my sun room now for nearly a year. Because it has been so reliable and good I am getting this 16" one for my husband's new office! He uses the 22" at home all the time. I also don't know what the man below is talking about. The specs say nothing about the ability to tilt, etc.
Pros: Very sharp picture and great color. Love the thinness and easy setup.
Cons: Must warm up a few moments while showing the ViewSonic screen saver. But very briefly
Summary: Can't expect big sound from a set this small. Hook it up to a 2.1 speaker set (use the earphone jack) and you'll be impressed. Didn't have problem with viewing angles. I've got this sitting on top of my computer and the picture gets very light when I stand up, but this is true of any monitor.
Pros: Great picture. Hooked it up with a simple loop antenna (modified with a balun) and picked up 38 digital stations. Even picked up NBC affiliate that my big TV with 2 bay UHF antenna can't receive. The guide is very good compared with others I've seen. The HDMI input worked great with my Insignia d...
Cons: Took me a little while to figure out the menu functions so I could set it up the way I wanted.
Summary: For the price I am satisfied. It has plenty of features and all of them work as stated.
Pros: Small in size. The image is better than I expected. There are plenty of connectors for various setups. The HDTV channels look quite good.
Cons: By default there is an auto-dimming feature that is annoying, once that is shut-off it is much more clear image. The s-video and audio connections are on the side which is awkward and looks odd when setup. The internal speakers are thin in sound which gets tiresome, use externals.
Pros: Bought this TV on Wendesday Feb-25th arived at my home the 27th. Kerrville,Texas. The TV is very good for the price, Very Good Picture, No instruction booklet came with it. But can be downloaded from the ViewSonic company.Remote and cables all came with it. And a Quick Start Software. As for the D...
Summary: If you are limited for space, this will fulfill that need very well.
Pros: Looks good and fits well under the kitchen cabinets - only had 14 inches. The picture is fine as long as you don't get too far off in the weeds. It does tilt, so that helps the viewing some. The set up went very smooth and we can view a whole lot of channels even without the box on the cable.
Cons: The sound is terrible. If anyone says otherwise, they need their hearing checked. I wonder why ViewSonic can put a better speaker on my desk monitor than on their TV. I would return it for that reason alone and is the reason I only gave it three eggs.
Summary: I bought this for my wife as a Christmas present to use in the kitchen and perhaps as a spare (for a bedroom or hobby room TV), it fits that purpose fine. For $190 after rebate we can live with that, at 6 lbs it's much easier to lug around than our 25 year old portable with limited channels.
Pros: Easy to use/setup. So far we have used for standard analog and HDTV straight off the cable (no DVD playing yet and may use as a PC monitor at some point but that was not the reason we got it). Since this unit has a QAM filter we can pick up all non scrambled HD signals off our cable w/o a box. Th...
Cons: The picture quality viewing angle as mentioned in other reviews is not the best. It does tilt up/down which helps somewhat but when you get about 30 degrees (60 degree total viewing angle) off center either way the darks especially looks pastey. Our point of comparison is our 2 year old 42" Sony ...
Summary: Comments about Viewsonic N1630w 16: Viewsonic monitors are generally good, and this is no exception. But when I saw it - boy that screen is small. A laptop screen of that size would be fine, but larger screens can be had for around the same price. PT Barnum said there's a sucker born every minute.
