Shuts off randomly, and quite often!

  • Summary: Terribly disappointed. At about two and a half years the tv began shutting off randomly. Now we can only watch for about 5 minutes before it turns off unless we constantly run a fan behind it - I suspect the unit is overheating even though it's always out in the open (not in a cabinet). Bad quality! I feel like I got taken.

THIS TV SUCKS!!!

  • Summary: We purchased the Toshiba 18 months ago. IT STOPPED WORKING YESTERDAY. THERE PHONE TECH TOLD ME AFTER I EXPLANED THE PROBLEM THAT THE TV POWER BOARD NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. WE HAD DONE NOTHING BUT TURN IT ON AND OFF. NOW IT DOES NOT FUNCTION AT ALL. BECAUSE IT CAME WITH A 12 MONTH WARRANTY, TOSHIBA WILL NOT FIX IT!!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TV IT CAN STOP WORKING COMPLETE A FEW MONTH OUT OF WARRANTY AND YOU WILL BE LEFT HOLDING THE BAG.

NO More Parts...

  • Summary: After having paid over $800 for this television set, the main board has gone out, 2 years later... I have taken the TV in for repair and found that the part that needs to be replaced has been discontinued. Called Toshiba for the last 3 days and get sent in circles. Bottom line is, the main board is no good and not replaceable. Planned obsolescence at it's best.

Piece of Junk!

  • Summary: I purchased this TV about 2 yrs ago and now im losing video and audio. Contacted Amazon who told me to contact Toshiba who told me to contact Amazon. Never again am I buying a Toshiba,this was a waist of 600 dollars. Always thought Amazon stood behind what they sold but not in this case, very disappointed and I could have gotten the same customer svc from a chain store so back to best buy I go.

  • Summary: I bought this TV new from Sears on Oct 2 2011. It is less than 2 years old, 11 months out of warranty. It goes off by itself every 10-20 minutes then comes back on a minute later. Researching the web I found this is a major problem with this unit and Toshiba will do nothing about it. Bottom line: I spent over $600 on a TV for 21 months of use. Toshiba...never again. If you would replace it, yes.....but your lack of empathy for your customers disgusts me.

Broke after 20 days

  • Summary: This TV was great - we'd been saving for it for over a year. When it worked, it was great! But after 20 days the power & sounds stopped working. The green indicator light would blink and it would shut itself off. We called Toshiba and they had to order the part, and then schedule another appointment that could take 3 weeks! When we finally got a repair man out, the part that was ordered wasn't the problem so we had to go through this all over again.

Terrible Customer Service and not great product

  • Summary: I bought this TV, and have had several problems with it. When there is any bass (like an explosion, music, etc.) the TV speakers vibrate and get very distorted, also the screen on the TV has splotches on it. Toshiba has done a TERRIBLE job of trying to fix it (first trying to just put tape on it to stop the vibration of the speakers which didn't work).

  • Summary: Bought this TV on other reviews and price. BIG MISTAKE. It took 2 weeks to get here and then the remote was dead. I called Toshiba Jan. 10. I am still waiting for a new remote. So I decided to get a replacement. It took another 11 days to arrive only after 6 calls to Amazon and the worthless delivery company [GLEN ELLYN STORAGE]. Guess what this did not work either and the doufus from the delivery company had no paperwork for the return.

  • Summary: So my wife and I were looking for a new, larger TV. We didn't have a ton of money to spend, so we were looking to get the most bang for our buck. After comparing a bunch of TV specs online, we decided to go with either this Toshiba or the equivalent Sony Bravia. Both looked great, and the Bravia was only $75 more in a local store, but with Amazon's great price, free shipping, and no tax, the Toshiba ultimately won in the end.

  • Summary: Amazon had this TV at a pretty good price--at least briefly--and I jumped all over it needing a nice new 46" for the living room in our new house. We were doing a really big remodel on the place so though I plugged it in to test it for a few minutes it didn't get any real use until 6 weeks after I got it from amazon.
