Summary: I'm sure the TV works great, but the directions to set it up stink. So, I'm still experimenting to see what works. I think I need a new cable, but can't tell for sure from directions. I'm sure the "smart" features work, but I've never had one of these, and without directions, we don't know how to make it function. Lack of clear directions has made this a very unpleasant purchase; if we don't get it working right in a week, we'll be returning it.
Summary: Rating would have been 4 stars, except they shipped a TV with a "fried" hard drive (according to Toshiba Tech Support). It turns itself on and off and has a blinking light emanating from a vent area in the back. I had to order another one and drive 30 miles to a store to return this one...
Summary: This TV has way more options then I needed and I had to mess with it a bit when I was connecting to my home wireless network BUT all in all it has been GREAT! I went from a 32" Westinghouse to this 39" Toshiba and the picture is so much clearer and I think it may actually be too big because the first few nights I was a zombie because the pic is so big and beautiful I couldn't stop watching it!!! LOL Great TV for a good price.
Summary: This TV is acceptable when you are sitting higher than the screen, and OK when you are sitting level with the screen. When I put it in its intended spot above the mantel, an angle of about 10 degrees above me, I saw blatant, obvious shadowing in the backlighting. A computer page that should have been all-white had distinct gray swirls across several areas. I am taking it back for a refund. I would have kept it except for this big flaw.
A relatively inexpensive TV with lots of features.

Summary: After checking with Consumer Reports, I bought this TV because it seemed to be the best choice for the largest set that could fit inside of our entertainment center. Have no complaints except for how gradually the picture quality decreases the more you move away from a direct viewing angle.
Pros: Picture quality is extremely good, easy enough to set up.
Cons: The more you move to a side-facing viewing angle, the worse the picture becomes.
Summary: I bought this TV to go in my room. I have had it for less than 48 hours and its been nothing but a hassel. First the picture is horrid. Even some of my HD channels look terrible on the tv. Just overall bad picture quality. Very pixelated. Then the TV would not connect to the wireless internet. I had to call Toshiba. It needed a software update. Why a brand new TV needed an update, no one could explain.
