Summary: This model works OK as a regular TV on Cable, or when connected to a DVD. But it delivers a miserable experience as a wi-fi TV. The initial network setup is awkward and tedious, partly due to no alphanumeric keypad to enter network names and passwords. The cursor must be driven around an on-screen keyboard matrix in slow and painful steps. But even that wouldn't be too bad if the setup could be done only once.
Summary: Look at all those audio outputs on the back though. I have a PC + Line-in and HDMI carrying audio from gaming consoles and a little $3 adapter plugged in to the red/white audio out for 2+1 speakers via the headphone-style jack. That's a $20 pair of 30 watt speakers with a subwoofer plugged in to this thing and it's worlds better than many much more expensive sets, imagine it with an actual audio system rather than some PC speakers.
Summary: The first TV I received would only display a white screen. I called Toshiba and after 30 minues on line with a technician trying everything he knew, he said the TV was defective. I contacted the seller and was told to return the TV via FedEx at my expense and they would reimbrurse. After 2 months of sending them emails regarding my refund and being ignored, I got an email today stating that they had to pay to send out a second TV and were not sure I would get my $24.19...
Summary: I picked this up on clearance for $100 and it has met my expectations. It's main purpose was as a monitor and it needs no adjustments for that... at least not with my notebook that is equipped with HDMI output. Plugged it in, set it to PC mode... viola! For grins, I decided to try Transformers on blu-ray via my laptop... super nice picture! Netflix was decent. The sound is pretty bad, especially if you are sitting close.
Summary: Crystal clear picture on HD channels. Sometimes have to adjust the picture size because the recording was a different format. Hooked up external speakers so don't really care about the cheezy built ins.
Summary: I have a small home office and finding this tv fit all of my needs. I not only have a tv where I can hook up my game system, but I can also have my satellite service, my dvd player, and my vcr thanks to the inputs which are provided with the tv. And additional bonus of having the tv already wifi ready means I can access all of the features I need online without having to buy any additional equipment. Toshiba has it right when they designed thier tvs.
