Summary: I bought this TV in early July and had no complaints about it until recently. Like other reviewers there appears to be a consistent problem with the audio output or audio hardware on this TV. For lack for a better description I'm hearing small crackling and screeching noises whenever I run media through the television, particularly when playing video games.
Summary: this just arrived 4 days ago. on the first day i plugged my xbox into the first HDMI port. the picture is great. no complaints. but the audio... once every minute or so the tv speaker would emit a chirpy, static-y sound. my roommate likened it to a DJ scratching a record. i think it sounded like running your fingers over an inflated latex balloon. either way, it did this normally while i was playing that night. i looked around online for a fix but found nothing.
Summary: Let me preface this by saying that I am aware of the limitations of LED TVs' speakers. I'm not at all picky when it comes to sound quality, though, so I didn't anticipate it would be a problem for me. But the Toshiba 24L4200U speakers swallow up people's voices; it's nearly impossible to understand dialogue. I'm not talking about speakers that give out tinny sound or not enough bass or something like that -- these speakers render incomprehensible audio.
