Summary: I received the tv with no remote and the panel locked which means I could not use the tv without a remote and I could not access the menu. Had to order a remote that was compatible with the tv. The dvd player did not work. I purchased this tv to put in my 1 yr old twins bedroom and the main reason why I wanted the dvd player was so they could watch movies in their room without all the excess cords. I thought I was getting a deal instead I wasted more money and time.
Summary: This is a great tv which has all of the features of more expensive models. You can use it as a tv of course but also as a computer monitor. It has numerous inputs and great sound. They call it a TheaterWide TV as the bottom of the television is actually a sound bar speaker which alleviates the need of having to go out and purchase a speaker system for your set.
Summary: It lasted 4 and a half years. Six months after the extended warranty had expired it could no longer be turned on. That, by the way, is pretty revealing about extended warranties; I will never purchase another one again. The 23HLV85 overall quality was neither better nor worse than other brands (I also have 2 Samsung and 1 LG). The incorporated dvd player was constantly plagued with problems, unreliable, especially with dvds getting stuck and difficult to remove.
Summary: I have owned this TV for about 2 years now and it has worked great for me. We have this TV in the bedroom and have found it to have great color, sound and DVD functionality. I like the flexibility of multiple inputs. The HDMI input provides outstanding color. My only complaint is that the TV selects the aspect ratio of the picture. You can't artificially change a standard picture to wide screen for example.
Summary: Outstanding picture on both HD tv and DVDs. Very good for standard definition broadcasts due to multiple display options through just a click on the remote. Very good sound. Light and fits just about anywhere. Looks good for variety of angles. Easy to set up.
