Summary: Bought this in November. A thunderstorm-induced power surge just 7 months later damaged enough components that the repairs would have cost than I paid for the TV here at Amazon! I left it at the repair shop and have bought a better power strip to use with my next TV. While it lasted, it was fine. The default black levels made night scenes look too muddy, but 20 minutes of tweaking the advanced settings fixed that.
Summary: I tried my best to give this TV a chance, but unfortunately, it failed on me. When I first got this TV I couldn't help but notice light leaking in from the top two corners of the TV. I tried my best to ignore it, but it was one of those things that when you know it's there, you can't help but be distracted by it. This leaking light, or "flashlighting", was only noticeable during darker scenes, but this can become a problem when everything is in letterbox.
Summary: Okay, I read the reviews on amazon as many do and thought for sure this tv was a no brainer. Roughly $400.00 for a 40" 1080p lcd hdtv sounds so good and four stars? Wow... Anyways lets cut to the chase. I bought the tv.. it arrived a day later (amazon is great) and I unboxed it. At first I thought the t.v looked great but I quickly found many many things wrong with it. I plugged it in and turned it on, wait.. before I turned it on I noticed where they placed the plug.
