Excellent overall; mediocre black levels

Andrew, Amazon

  • Summary: Pros: - Excellent detail and resolution - 4K content looks stunning - Very good color reproduction (but required calibration - defaults are a bit off) - Good (i.e., low) motion blur (visible, as with all LED/LCD sets, but not a problem unless you are sensitive) - Slim bezel - 3D seems good (but I don't like 3D in general and rarely use it) Cons: - Mediocre black levels and shadow detail - Clearly visible "flashlighting" of the backlight in all four corners It seems that...

It's not a TV. It's a window to another world.

  • Summary: Simply amazing. It works great, sets up easily and is an awesome TV, but feed it a good signal and it'll transport you to another world. I haven't been that impressed with streaming 4k (and I have a 50+Mb cable connection) but put a good Blu-ray 3D in an upsampling player and kerblammo, a window to another world opens. Monsters Inc will blow you away, I started watching it in 3D about 15 feet away from the screen.

The best I've seen!

  • Summary: Wow! The picture really is as good as the other 5 star reviews have indicated. IMO, most LCD and LED TVs don't get skin tones and black tones like the best plasmas and projectors do. My XBR65X850B does both well in addition to producing a higher resolution, almost stunning picture. Colors are deeply saturated and adjustable. I added a tinge of red to the default settings for the best skin tone. The 4K content on Netflix looks great, but so does the HD up scaled content.

  • Summary: This is my second XBR model from Sony, and I have to say it is absolutely worth it to step up to this model line. The picture quality is very good for regular HD tv, but you need to see 1080p or higher to truly appreciate what this tv is capable of. Netflix 'SuperHD' and 4K look outstanding! Colors are true and the picture is very smooth. First shipment arrived damaged, but Crutchfield immediately sent me out a replacement. Outstanding customer service as usual!
  • Pros: Picture Quality Simple interface Streams flawlessly from Netflix/Amazon/etc 4K upscaling looks good for regular tv viewing
  • Cons: Touchpad remote? I guess I don't get it - The standard remote works just fine, and while the touchpad remote is kind of a novelty, it feels like it's ancient technology when compared to what we are used to with tablets and smart phones.

Great TV

  • Summary: Spectacular picture. Realism, color, and sense of depth perception (w/o 3D) is phenomenal. Automatically recognizes other Sony equipment and allows one remote control. Menu interface a little clunky, but once you get used to it, its fine. Product handling and delivery from Crutchfield was exemplary. TV arrived on time in great shape. Hook-up was straight forward.
  • Pros: Excellent picture. Beautiful set. Easy delivery and setup.
  • Cons: Menu interface could be improved.
