You'll be saying "Wow" constantly.

  • Summary: I had resisted the whole Flat Panel TV craze for a long time, at least for my largest "Home Theater" display, to the point that when I bought this TV in March, 2011, my best TV was a CRT Sony KV-36HS500. That's a 36" 4:3 tube TV with a 1080i widescreen 16:9 picture of 30-32" depending on material.

  • Summary: I purchased the Sony Bravia KDL HX800 55, brand new, for just $680 plus tax (total $736) thru Sony's customer loyalty program and I feel like I stole it! This set is awesome! The picture is stunning and it has so many features that you will never use them all.

  • Summary: This Tv the Sony BRAVIA KDL55HX800 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D-Ready LED HDTV, Black is amazing. The picture is truer than life and the 3D functionality works very well. I did order it used like-new condition and it was in great condition but they shipped it with the wrong screws and pieces were missing...

Excellent!

  • Summary: There are a few settings that need to be turned off/reduced before you dive head-first into 1080P content like games: Picture Settings -- Sharpness: This is purely an artificial sharpener meant for non-HD content. You want to turn this down to 'Min' (zero) for games, PC, or Blu-Ray content.
  • Pros: Sleek design, amazing picture quality, plenty of features & options. I upgraded from a 4-year-old 1080i 32-incher, and there is no comparison as to how much more impressive this set looks. Suddenly, my entire bedroom wall is covered in pure 1080P joy! I've hooked my PS3 and PC up to it and the ga...
  • Cons: Documentation. I reviewed manuals online before purchasing so I knew how to change various settings, but such manuals should have been included with the set. Also, certain feature settings aren't explained as to exactly what they do. Sony needs to make a comprehensive guide that explains how each...

Sony Amazes Me

David P., Newegg
4 March 2011
  • Summary: All in all its a good TV if its on sale. regular price you might want to cough up the extra for the widget pro model. But if you get this one you wont be disappointing i know I'm not.
  • Pros: LED Slim. 55" Inch. Invisible Speaker System. Light Weight (Really 60Lbs Tops). Contrast Ration isn't mentioned but on Sony's website it describes it as "Infinite" were it auto adjust depending on how dark the color will get. Image Adjustments options are great, they have a simple and advanced me...
  • Cons: My first major con is the response time Sony should be better. sometimes while flipping through channels it gets stuck and then flips through the channels after a sec. No widgets(not much of a con for me). Feels Flimsy(Delicate) was very nervous picking this guy up or even turning it on its swive...

  • Summary: Don't think about it..........BUY IT!
  • Pros: Everything! I went from a 40" samsung LCD and the difference is night and day. This tv has the best picture of any tv i have ever seen. Excellent contrast and the 240hz works flawlessly, especially with xbox360 games. I watched avatar on blu-ray the day i got it home and i was in aw at the clarit...

  • Summary: I bought this TV to replace a Vizio 47 inch. This is an excellent tv, not without some faults, but still 5 stars in my opinion! First the good: picture quality is excellent, this tv has the extras I like - Amazon, Netflix both stream with no issues and a number of others I have not really tried out...

Very Nice HDTV, but arrived DOA

  • Summary: AIT shipping was in a word, "unique". The tracking system is hard to understand and our television was actually delivered by a guy in a white Toyota pickup truck. The AIT shipping system is very strange. Delivery took 5 business days (One calendar week).
  • Pros: Very sleek design, excellent set of features, superb contrast ratio. I had done months of research and ultimately decided on this panel. The colors are accurate, resulting in amazing looking 1080i and 1080p output. The bezel is sleek and a non-distracting glossy black. When setting up the unit, I...
  • Cons: Unit arrived with bad LCD panel. On the second day of owning this new TV set (after about 3 or 4 hours of total use), we turned on our new television to discover several vertical lines on the LCD. Saddened we knew that we couldn't exchange the TV because of NewEgg's 37-in+ TV return policy, inste...

Pretty Good

  • Summary: Another thing you are going to want to disable is the ambient light sensor. When I first used the TV, I thought everything was kind of dull.. whites were really grey.. I figured there must be a setting to improve this.. Thats when I discovered the Ambient light setting..
  • Pros: I picked up this TV from a local store where I live. My first impressions were off the charts. This TV looks AMAZING with most content. I have not spent the extra $200 for the 3D transmitter/glasses yet, so I can't comment on the 3D quality. I was a little concerned how this TV would perform with...
  • Cons: I get some clouding in dark scenes.. This isn't a problem for 90 percent of content.. But for darker scenes it can be distracting. You notice the clouding mostly during credits and older hand drawn animated movies that have a dark scene.. It isn't that bad, and for most it probably isn't an issue...
