Maurizio Mezzatesta "READING IS GOOD! CAN WE ..., Amazon
17 June 2013
Summary: The picture is nice and so is the sound but the interface is absolutely awful. When you turn it on, it takes at least 10 to 15 seconds before you can use the remote and the menus are slow and clunky. There are good features on the TV but the delivery is poorly executed. On top of that, it has now started turning off by itself, particularly when I'm navigating through menus.
Summary: I've had the Sony Bravia KDL40HX800 for over a year now and I'm sated, all the features claimed worked as promised. From my standpoint as a I.T. Network Engineer I'd say the Sony KDL00HX800 line of HDTV's are over-powered and have just been retooled in current revisions with new labels; ie: its better than the selling standards. It's touted Motionflow PRO 240Hz speed is just great! Also I've read several reviews here that the unit "turns off on its own....
Summary: I have other LED LCD's and thought the Sony would have an outstanding picture, however I found that my LG's are much much better. My LG's are not plugged into an HD box and the picture is outstanding. This Sony does have the HD box and the picture is no where near the quality of the LG. Speakers are fine, but did add to the unit to have a much better overall sound. Overall pleased with this purchase, but next time I purchase and LED TV I will definitely stick with LG's.
Summary: It is true about the TV just shutting off by it self all of the sudden. I've purchase this TV about 2 years ago and 3 months ago it started doing this. Of course is out of warranty so I decided NO MORE Sony for me.
Excerpt: There are tons of different inputs you can plug into the back of the tv. Compare this to my Samsung that has a very limited amount of inputs. You will greatly appreciate all the connections you can plug in with this tv. The menu system is ok, could use a little work but overall works well. The remote is good too and if you get a sony blu ray player, it just automatically worked with that as well.
Excerpt: I love Sony and this TV does not disappoint. Just got it a few days ago and it has a great picture. WE got the 3D accessories and already have a PS3 and watched A Christmas Carols last night in 3D. I like this type of 3D better than in the theaters because it is a better crisper picture. The 3D is more in terms of depth than projection on an image towards you but it really have a great look to it. Can't go wrong with this TV.
Excerpt: this is the best tv ive seen so far. the style of the tv is perfect for my room. 240hz makes the movie run smooth and no judding like my old tv. extra bonus for this tv its 3D compatible, but too bad the transmitter is not built in the tv. 3D glasses are sold separately, i wish wouldve include it with the tv. the black level on the tv is perfect , not cloudy at all. the tv menu is easy to navigate. Summary: Even by paying a bit more than for any other brand, I am sure you're going to be satisfied by the Sony product regardless of where it was assembled. I gave it more than 1 year trial period prior to posting the review. This set was assembled in Mexico. Yet it works as good as all my previous Sony TVs made in Japan.
Summary: I have had this TV now for several months and am more than pleased with its performance. It has a very sharp and clear picture with excellent sound. You can't go wrong with this TV. It's a step above most HDTVs. I haven't used the 3D capability yet, but am thinking of purchasing a WIFI adapter so I can access the Internet (YouTube mainly).
