Dead after 20 months

Bolestuff, Amazon
25 September 2013
  • Summary: The TV looked great until it took a complete crap after less then two years. Sony offered me a 55 inch for $680, but I think I'm going to move forward to a 70 inch.

died to soon!

T.G. Mitchell, Amazon
19 July 2013
  • Summary: Got this TV in March of 2011 and loved it. Due to financial constraints I did not buy the expensive extended warranty. Worked beautifully for 27 months and then the picture went and the sound set itself to earsplitting and would not be adjusted. Repairman wanted $550.00 to repair. He had the set for over a motnth tried putting in multiple new boards and the thing could not be fixed. Would give a 5 star review if it had lasted more than 2 years.

No motion blur

Loves music, Amazon
15 October 2012
  • Summary: If you like the bright picture of a LCD but can't stand the motion blur, This TV does a great job of eliminating the blur. It has a great picture, but the awesome thing is you can watch sports and movies and not be bothered by a slow refresh rate. I am very skeptical of LCD technology for this reason, but I must humbly admit, this TV performs very well. It's natural, but warm, and doesn't need much adjustments from the factory setting.

Used Sony KDL60EX500

Rick L, Amazon
19 January 2012
  • Summary: Sony KDL 60EX500 delivered on time. Cosmetic condition of TV as described in Amazon Marketplace Ad. The TV is watchable for bright content, but has what appears to be multiple bad pixels appearing as a red oval streaked area on lower portion of center of screen in darker scenes. This was not mentioned in the product condition description. I got a great price, but it was not a "perfect TV" as advertised.

great tv, great value

Buckeye Micro ACD Computer "Dell Jonas Clubso..., Amazon
6 October 2011
  • Summary: I watched side by side at bestbuy, this model and the ex700 LED version. I can hardly tell much difference. So I saved $400 and bought this model. Hook it up with a laptop and a PS3, I watch IPTV a lot. This size if perfect for my great room, my 52 inch Sharp was too small.

Keeps shutting off.

Mike L. Schmitz "mschmitz", Amazon
28 September 2011
  • Summary: Pros: Good picture. Cons: Can't keep it running. It shuts off and restarts several times a day. When this happens you lose the tv guide, internet apps, and have to reset the clock and date. Customer service had me unplug it, check for latest firmware, and reset the tv (usually about a 30 - 60 minutes process). This doesn't correct the issue. I see other people have the same issue. I'd rate it 4 stars if I could keep it running.

Sony KDL60ex500

dave s "dave s", Amazon
27 September 2011
  • Summary: Excellent Hd and Sd picture. Plenty of inputs and outputs. Sound quality for built in speakers more than adequate. The colors and sharpness are not the best but in this price category cannot be beat. The picture is just a tad below that of Samsung 60" LN60C630 LCD, but not by much. Colors are vibrant but not overly saturated and false like Sharp Quattron. Clearer picture than Sharp 60" LCD LC-60E77UN or LC-60E78UN. I prefer LCD over plasma.

Big Bang for the Buck!

TerriScott, Amazon
20 September 2011
  • Summary: We had a 2005 SXRD, we'd had to have the optical block replaced 1 due to green screen effect (not cost to us). Then a year later I'm noticing that when the TV is showing something w/a white background (HDTV has lots of this) there was "yellow burn out". Sony CS offered us this TV for $150, we said heck yeah! And, after jumping through their various hoops, got this one in the mail, for a total of $163! More than worth it! Its just amazing!

Strobe light effect and Sony won't fix it

Stephen M. Slaughter, Amazon
18 September 2011
  • Summary: Length:: 0:13 Mins My new Sony KDL60EX500 has a strobe light effect, clearly evident in my video. It has been 6 weeks since I requested service (December 28, 2010). I bought it 8 weeks ago. Sony has PROMISED to fix my TV by April 1, 2011. Let's be clear, Sony is taking over 90 days to fix my new TV. Personally, I find this quality of service to be unacceptable, and I find it very disappointing. Be warned!!
