Summary: The picture is fine, but about 9 months in it started to develop reddish vertical striping. Dealing with Sony Customer Not Service is a nightmare. Systems down, phone lines not working, you name it. When I bought the product I got a typical 2 person delivery team to set up the product, make sure it is working etc. Sony wants to send it by Fed Ex. I don't want one Fed Ex guy handling the tv.
Summary: Contacted sony and tech is comming out, in about a week or so. But its just not the sony i remember when i was a child. Electornics built to last. What happened to that quality. This should not happen to a 2 day old tv.
Pros: like the cnet review stated it offers great blacks for an led. Let me tell you when i set this tv up my jaw dropped it was gorgeous. Probably the best purchase i've ever made.
Cons: I bought the tv from my local sony store on the june 12 and on june 14, i found a dead pixel on the bottom right corner. How am i to enjoy this tv's excellent black levels, when every time a dark scene in a movie pops up i see an annoying red dot.

Summary: Have a dead pixel right in the center of my screen! Called Sony customer service and they said it's normal and not covered under the warranty. Spent $2600 on the 55HX850 and I'm now stuck with an annoying and very distracting black dot during all but black scenes. Would be a great TV without the pixel problem. Bottom line, if you experience any bad pixels, you are on your own and Sony will not help.
Pros: Deep blacks for an LED TV and good picture.
Cons: Dead pixel, gorilla glass streaks easily and hard to clean, TV wobbles on stand when walking by, cheap remote
