Summary: After comparing, trying, enjoying the 3D feature w/glasses; we realized that Sony, is extremely hard to beat, or settle for less! We're definitely sold on this widescreen TV, of high caliber, complete w/Gorilla glass! Thank you...SONY!!
Summary: I'd like to thank all of the Amazon reviews for steering me in the right direction with this purchase. This television is simply remarkable. I must say that I was reluctant to purchase another LED because CNET makes you feel like you're committing a mortal sin if you don't purchase a Panasonic...
Summary: I received my KDL-55HX850 as a refurb replacement from Sony for my 10-month-old KDL-55HX820. I had wierd problems with the HX820 almost from the start, but I couldn't pin down the source of the problem. Finally about four weeks ago, it just shut down and started blinking a two red LED pattern.
Summary: from what I understand Sony has called all available back to Sony. only a few are still out there or used ones. the model W900A is going to replace it but it is not on the shelves yet as far as I know. you might be in luck if Sony lists any at their site under their specials page.
Pros: great picture
Cons: not availble in stores replaced by the W900a
Excellent TV If you take the time to learn what it can do.

Summary: OK I love this TV; however if you are more into a smarter "Internet TV" as a higher priority I say Samsung 8000 series. Also if you expect sound out of this unit you might as well be either deaf or have a tin ear. Sound bars? eh maybe...
Summary: I nearly went for the newer but also slightly more expensive XBR55HX950 but the sales rep gave me a very convincing deal with the HX850 that I simply could not resist. The 850's only come with only (1) stock 3D glass and an old model - TDG-BR250 so in turn he gave me (2) TGD-BR750 titanium glasses...
Summary: I have never purchased anything this expensive online before. I was pretty nervous about the shipping of what I would think would be a very fragile item. I have dealt with Amazon.com for quite a long time and have always had a good experience with my orders.
Summary: I have a Sony Bravia LCD from 2008 and was just blown away with the quality of this TV. Fantastic pictures, great speakers, thin beyond imagination, enough I/O ports to plug all your auxiliary equipment. Very happy with it.
Summary: I've read every review on the web I could find about the HX850 and the basic idea you get is this TV is one of two things. 5 stars and just amazing, or 1 star because someone got a lemon. The truth is somewhere in between.
Summary: I can only comment on the 2D quality, but thus far, the picture quality is terrific. I used some of the picture tweaks found at Cnet and adjusted them for some personal taste (backlight, sharpness, motion). The set I was shipped has zero dead pixels, and no clouding issues.
