Summary: Bought mine in 2009. Not even 5 years old yet. Just developed lots of judder during any motion sequence. Almost unwatchable. Contacted Sony hoping they would ship me a new TCON board. Nope. Do a search online for this TV and all you see are TCON issues widespread. My house is full of Sony products.
Another victim of the vertical line problem on the Sony KDL-52W4100

Summary: My Sony BRAVIA W-Series KDL-52W4100 started developing the vertical line problem just over the one year warranty period. We have been living with it since the line was fairly faint. Not the line is getting more visible and is very annoying to watch. I used to be a fan of Sony but no longer.
Summary: This is just a fair warning to those considering any Sony TV. I dished out $3,000 for a Sony Bravia KDL52XBR4 3 1/2 years ago. In the last few months the TV has developed ghosting images, double images, and vertical lines throughout the screen.
Summary: I bought a new 52 in. XBR9 back in Oct. 2009 for $1,900, and the LCD panel has already gone bad after 22 months. Cost to fix = $2,800! I called Sony and they could care less! Offered to sell me another set for a reduced price. I wouldn't spend another penny on their products! Need more proof ...
Summary: Over 2 years old now and still working and looking great! It's the best TV I've ever owned. Bought it over 2 years ago and it still holds it own with anything on the market today. If you can find one of these in some store's backroom...buy it!
Pros: Best picture I've ever seen and I've been in the AV field for 11 plus years.
Cons: Does not swivel on base and when new was crazy expensive.

Summary: THIS WAS AN EXPENSIVE TV AND WE EXPECTED IT TO LAST A FEW YEARS. LESS THAN 18 MOS FROM TIME IT WAS INSTALLED GOT WHITE HORIZONAL LINES WHICH ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN, VERY ANNOYING. OF COURSE 1 YR WARRANTY AND THEN YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN.

Summary: maybe a bad luck. my 52w4100 went down last week after i purchsed it 18 months ago. the panel went bad. verical lines were all across the screen. the color faded...I am looking for a new TV to replace it. just felt I can't trust SONY anymore...
Summary: I purchased my 52 inch Sony Bravia on January 18, 2009. Until three days ago I loved it. Anyone who came in my house would comment on a clarity of the image. Delivery of the set by Amazon was flawless. Three days ago we were watching the TV and the screen went black.

Summary: Bought this tv and after 18 months the panel is going bad. Sony wants $2700.00 just for the part not including the labor. That is more that the TV cost and I could afford to buy 2 tv's for same cost as the panel. Stay away from this tv!!!
